For an ambitious fresher looking forward to take the next step and pursue a MBA, the learning was pretty useful

Research Associate (Former Employee) Ahmedabad (India)

ProsWhen you are not involved in assisting for Professor's consulting assignments, analyzing data or making presentations, there is enough freedom to do your own work. I'd say considering the travel of your professor, the work you do on a normal day and considering a 8 hour working day, on average, you'd have 4 hours free to do your own stuff, which for me was the best part of the job

ConsThe pay is less, of course. Unlike the pay for a RA in a developed country (take the US for instance), the pay for the same amount of work in India is too less. That is the only downside and hence the RA jobs are normally considered as a stepping stone onto a higher educational degree or another corporate job.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe pay should be increased so that it is good enough to attract quality researchers to the institute and probably, assuming the staff would stay on a bit longer, I would envisage that the research output would get a little better for what is known as the best B school in India

    ACADEMIC & RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

ACADEMIC & RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (Current Employee) Ahmedabad (India)

ProsExcellent for fresh post-graduates who are interested in academics as a career. The guidance and mentorship provided by the faculty at IIM-A is something that I will value throughout my life. Got to listen to so many great people via guest lectures and one-on-one sessions. Also, being surrounded by brilliant students who are so driven and at the same time, so grounded is something that encourages you to still believe that, teaching is still a worthwhile profession! :)

ConsLong hours, but no overtime pay ! :)

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
