    Pros

pretty good place to work at. nice campus, great facilities provided.

    Cons

the research profile of IIT Kanpur is not comparable to the rest of the world. most of the research happens to be self cited. also the housing facilities are not particularly nice etc

    Advice to Management

I wouldn't have any advice to the management. it's not a company so I work directly under the professor and learn

    Pros

Good worklife balance and there is various things to learn from students and so do the guide. All the staffs and students are too cooperative, even if you ask them toughest question they will try to assist you.

    Cons

I prefer to give one suggestion that salary paid to me was too low by my guide, though other guides pay good amount to their candidates. I wont specify the name of professor but he needs to think that how can a M.Tech graduate(Project from NAL) who has inbuilt talent to explore high and do any task can survive for only Rs 12000 for six months. I would like you to stand at my position and live a life for a month getting this amount. They try to take advantage of the students jobless condition. I have solved maximum of his task but he never felt to even acknowledge for the tasks I have completed but still I would like to thank him for giving this opportunity.

    Advice to Management

Salary standard as per qualification and knowledge should be managed by management not by the professor himself. If a candidate is paid well right from the beginning,he is motivated for completing his task. Salary scale shown in advertisement is just useless eg 22000-2200-44000. A person comes thinking that he would be paid 44000 but he hears the actual scenario he is disgusted and returns back to where he/she is. Rest all is ok.

    Pros

Your learning experience will enrich you with so many sweet memories and the events held yearly leave a big impression behind :)

    Cons

No particular cons, maybe there is a need for inter campus convenience vehicle, like battery operated vehicles or so.. As the campus is huge and yes, one more thing.. IIT Kanpur is not supposed be in Kanpur. This city is a total disaster though IIT Campus is a totally different world

    Advice to Management

The Management is very good and cooperative, they may create trouble while sanctioning leave but will always be there for you in need of any crisis or urgent need. They are all very sweet so no advice for you all.
