Demanding work environment and limited prospects yet can be rewarding

    Advisor (Current Employee) Washington, DC

ProsThe place to be if you are a hard-core economist interested in trying to do some good for countries in bad shape rather than make big bucks in banks (you will still earn a comfortable living!).

ConsDespite ongoing efforts, still bureaucratic, lack of prospects, and not the place to go for work-life balance.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

    Very rewarding

Deputy PM (Former Employee) Washington, DC

ProsThe atmosphere at the Fund is one of constant professional challenge, never a dull moment. One has to be willing to be nimble and continue to grow as part of a very dedicated and committed group of professionals.

ConsThe firing of people is a constant revolving door.

Advice to Senior ManagementHappy employees are more productive employees. Fear is not conducive to self improvement, it only promotes self doubt and not efficiency.
