I have been working at INC Research full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good teams to work for, good vision of the new CEO, they want to give people a chance to grow, promote from within. low number of days to qualify for Clinical Monitoring Rewards Program when compared to other CROs. Willing to be flexible about work from home if you are able to do so with your position, good trainings, trusted process works.

    Cons

pay, resources, lack of change when promised that work life balance will get better, sometimes an unfair promotion pathway and compensation for promoted individuals when new hires make more money

    Pros

This company is growing quickly and the financials are strong. A good CRO to work for if you are in the right role/group. My experience with Sponsor Contracts WORK ORDERS, Finance, and Project Management was positive.

Salary was reasonable. Benefits are good.

    Cons

My experience with Sponsor Contracts CHANGE ORDERS was horrific. They sell you on "management by results" and "flexibility/work-life balance." The truth is, if you want to experience the worst form of narcissistic micro-management ever, then join the Sponsor Contracts Change Orders group. In my 20 years or professional work, I have never seen this level of micro-management and worse, direct manipulation of the truth. On the other hand, if you want to be a robot and never receive any positive feedback, this is the place for you!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please, either a) continue to provide management training to all levels of management in the Sponsor Contracts Change Orders division and b) understand that while one story like mine could be "random," but multiple stories like mine that have been confirmed constitutes a big flashing warning sign that problems exist.

    Pros

Not much micro-management. Opportunities for growth if you express interest. Good location. Good work/life balance.

    Cons

Not much peer interaction if you're new to the company; I've been here a few years and the same cliques that existed when I started still exist. Salary could be better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pay your good employees better.

    Pros

Great mentor-ship by senior employees, open relationship

    Cons

Should do more delegation of work to new employees, just for the sake of training with no real ownership.

I worked at INC Research full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Depending on your department and manager, you can have a very flexible work schedule. But some departments have little/no flexibility so it is very hit or miss.

    Cons

INC Research has a definite mentality of "quantity over quality". Workloads are to a level that it is not possible to produce quality work. It is not uncommon to work well over 40 hours a week if you are salaried. Depending on your department, there is no recognition for extra effort or high quality work.

Employee morale is terrible, to a point where the work environment can be toxic with everyone vocalizing their dissatisfaction. From a corporate level, there is a lot of talk about retention, but no one in upper management is able to define what is actually being done about it. The is no corporate support for job-related training or education. The pay is well below industry standard and promotions are rare. They offer annual merit increases, but you are lucky if they are around 3%. The company seems to care more about looking for reasons to pay less in your annual increase, or to not promote.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employee morale would be better if company success was shared with all employees. Employee recognition would also go a long way; currently there is none. Supporting employee efforts to attend job related training would be an investment in your own company.

    Pros

Great place to work, very good corporate ethos, numerous career advancement opportunities and recognition of dedicated, hard work.

    Cons

Pay is not very competitive, and while benefits are great, they don't put food on the table.

I have been working at INC Research full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay and decent benefits. It's very evident that many knowledgable people have been strategically recruited to work here. Some flexibility in schedules & work from home capabilities.

    Cons

If you're not part of one of the "cliques" you can go ahead and count yourself out of any career recognition, respect or advancement opportunities. The blood runs deep here. If your personal integrity prevents you from partaking in the juvenile gossiping, two-faced relationships, throw-anyone-under-the-bus-if-it'll-benefit-you type of behaviors, this is NOT the place for you. It's the way it works all the way down the food chain at INC. The cliques are diverse. I've sat back & watched it for years. They include senior management level staff down to interns & random people in between. If you're not "in", do yourself a favor & get OUT fast. You're headed nowhere fast. If the merciless backstabbing isn't enough, the bashing of fellow employees you'll witness will eventually make your ears bleed. It's a ruthless game that you can't win.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just stop it. You know better. Let your integrity shine. Stick up for what or who is right, regardless of who in your clique might just gasp in disbelief at your professional, adult-like behavior. Be the one to break this cycle. Defend, believe in & fight for your staff. Loyalty increases morale, and you'd be amazed at what a difference you'd see in performance & turnover if morale was increased. Even just a smidge.

    Pros

This is a great place for networking. People come and go for various reasons, some for pay and others for advanced job opportunities

    Cons

Limited to access in management. Once you get in place, advancement is not the easiest thing to achieve within your department.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward your folks with increased responsibility and advancement. They will make a tremendous contribution and you won't have as much turnover.

I worked at INC Research full-time

    Pros

If you have a good team, it makes work a pleasure even if the client is not! Also, because you'll be in a role for a long time you'll have a great opportunity to learn it and master all areas.

    Cons

As with other CROs, they over promise and expect their teams to pick up the slack. Salaries were not competitive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve transparency, penalizing your staff for being honest hurts the entire company. It is too easy for managers to prevent promotions to deserving staff.
