I worked at ING Americas full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Humane to employees, pace very relaxed.

    Cons

Ran out of money to do new work in IT. Became a desert for architects. This may change but I have not heard anything like that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

In IT there is always a need for balance between the comfortable present focused on operational nuts, bolts, and pennies, and the enabling future which will provide the organization with a foundation to grow. Hard to accomplish the latter without a lot of money - but you sure won't get there at all without visionaries and architects....

I worked at ING Americas full-time

    Pros

One of few companies that still has a pension plan. Total compensation is competitive. Focused on improving processess and getting lean while maintaining a focus on the customer.

    Cons

Reorganizations are frequent. Leadership is not in tune with the employee population. Performance evaluations are very subjective. The culture is one based on how much you are liked versus the competencies you bring to the job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take off the blinders and dig deep into the organization to effectively use the talent you already have.
