    Pros

Great benefits, beautiful in house gym

    Cons

I work in sales and it feels like a kindergarten teacher runs it. They started hiring kids in college and many are too immature to be dealing with people's finances. Leadership, especially on site upper management is unethical

-You will have no qualms about whether what you're selling someone will be good for them or not. The products are straightforward, save you money and you don't have to worry about fees.
    -Excellent benefits
-Managers are coaches. They want you to excel and will help you get there.
-Philanthropy and volunteerism is supported and a part of the bank's culture.

    Cons

-Capital One acquisition may introduce poor practices
    -Low pay
-Career options are limited outside of Corporate HQ in Wilmington, DE

I worked at ING Direct full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The salary and the bonus was alright and the people were cool to work with.

    Cons

When i worked there they had so many different applications you had to use to do your underwriting. The process was very redundant. Also, They expect you to follow their ING culture which felt like a cult.

    unimpressive organization

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    I worked at ING Direct

    Pros

Some opportunity available to do some interesting work, decent chance to work with newer technologies, solid educational benefits

    Cons

Very political, many managers have little idea of how to properly lead a team. Many managers are very competent at avoiding work and taking credit for the members of team that contribute.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lead more, get a better understanding of incentives for the workers

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    I worked at ING Direct

    Pros

    - Great people for the most part
    - Nice social perks
    - Great iced coffee
-You will certainly develop a tougher skin due to the constant verbal abuse.

    Cons

    - Little to no relevant experience for anything other than a call center or sales. Little to no hard skills.
    - Low pay, and promotions are only within sales which is essentially the same job just positioning different products.
    - Micromanagement- including managers listening to your call while you are on the phone.
    - Scheduling, getting PTO is a nightmare as is avoiding working on a weekend.
    - Lots of unprofessionalism because everyone is younger and management either turns a blind eye or is actively involved. Lots of inappropriate flirting by senior management- which is simply inappropriate.
-A lot of company policies/ICE actually aggravate customers further then a simple "no" would.
    - You will get lectured on taking time off the phone for using the restroom or rather hitting the "request" button. They want you to program your bathroom time according to your break time- good luck with that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit acting like this job is anything but a call center job- this is not the career of a lifetime and all of the "fun activities" in the world will not make up for all of the cons.
