    Opportunity if you are committed

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Scottsdale, AZ

ProsNot much of a mutual fund talent pool in this area, so there are opportunities you might not have available to you in a financial center. Good place for the true "self-starter."

ConsOn the job training can be stressful. The workload and deadlines are relentless if you are focused on quality. Not much downtime.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep striving for better training, retention, and performance management.

Laid back and relaxed work atmosphere, bis corporate BS, only average compensation

Intern, Product Development (Current Employee) Scottsdale, AZ

ProsBalance between work/life is excellent. Company allows for 20 days PTO almost always whenever you request for. Senior management is very competent, create a laid back and fun place to work.

ConsOften have to participate in dumb big corporate events and training that seem pointless. No one really takes them seriously. Not the best opportunities for career advancement although that is stronger in Scottsdale than other places within ING.

Advice to Senior ManagementShare more of the overall corporate strategy and direction with lower level employees. Compensation is average below competitors in the area.

    Sad State of Affairs

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Scottsdale, AZ

ProsManagement allows for at least some creativity in solving problems. If mistakes are made, it is not the end of the world. They allow you to learn from your mistakes and quickly move on.

ConsThere is a real lack of possible career advancement or growth within the current location. This is something that is rarely talked about or acknowledged. This is strange given the sheer size of the company. Management is overworked. Their low morale is passed down to the staff.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere needs to be better communication to the employees when it comes to career development. The company vision is not being communicated effectively. Employees feel like what they do on a daily basis does not matter and that it is just a job and not a career.

Horrible management style and negative work environment.

Financial Reporting Analyst (Current Employee) Scottsdale, AZ

ProsGood benefits and good brand recognition as a company to work for. The right department can really make your career there worth-while. Lots of opportunity to learn with continuous education opportunities. Lots of volunteer opportunities.

ConsFinancial Reporting Department has an extremely negative work environment that is portrayed down from management. Management is extremely negative and makes staff's life miserable. It creates a bad environment and no matter how hard you work, no appreciation is ever shown.

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn to genuinely be nice and have a heart. Stop the gossip and negativity. Try to genuinely encourage the professional growth and development of all individuals.
