Have applied to return to work here numerous times and have not been called for interview, although I know my work history previously was excellent

    Pros

Much technology to offer the community. Very specialized care allowing for many learning opportunities. "Family feel" Cardiac hospital inside a full service hospital.

    Cons

Very political! Huge divide between Heart Hospital and Med/Surg areas. This creates tension and opportunities for improved communication. The environment extends into the MDs - MS docs don't want theirs in HH beds and the reverse. Heavy management focus on their bonuses with less concern for the average employee. Discrepancy in stating all areas provide "The most challenging healing" yet bonuses and increased pay for a few areas. Understaffed bedsides and heavy administration with huge accountability/expectation on the staff at the bedside. SLOW to make changes or respond to competitive market trends.

    Advice to Management

Live up to your promises. Allow adequate staffing to accommodate true acuity based staffing. Limit the expansion of VP of .... Integris lost its biggest cheerleader and pubic advocate when Mr. Hupfeld retired - remember his legacy of promoting nursing (as well as the other disciplines.)

    Pros

    Health benefits
    Stability
Good people, honest and great to work with at the technician level

    Cons

Leadership not in touch with burdens of the "worker bees"
Slow to adopt change in culture or technology
    Less than average pay
Lack of rewards for the amount of hours and efforts of its employees
Career advancement is difficult to achieve
Achievements by staff overshadowed by the need for another new project (get back to work)
Terrible coffee in the breakroom, easy fix guys come on spend the money
    401K match is laughable
No fair metrics used to achieve salary increases (like education and responsibility increase for example)

    Advice to Management

In my time of many years at INTEGRIS corporate I consistently saw the best and youngest talent leave for much better opportunities elsewhere. Managers are too busy with large numbers of employees to supervise and 100s of projects or initiatives for current budget year that they cannot see to growth and direction of staff, nor can they account for or focus on priority project list that is ever changing to accommodate this weeks critical priority projects. Some employees have little to do while others have far too much on their plate and make the same amount of money, how is this right? Hire a CTO with the available time and whom has responsibilities of being a CTO to stimulate change in culture and encourage growth of the employees.

    Pros

Close to doctors and child care. They have a child care program that is one of the best. It's only available to employees.

    Cons

Very political. Doctors run the hospital and whatever they want, they get.

    Advice to Management

Without other administrative staff, the docs are powerless to provide proper healthcare. Give others some respect too!

  7. Public Safety is a joke department, poor management. INTEGRIS is great though

    Pros

Employees working for INTEGRIS outside of public safety were great

    Cons

Security management and style of operation of public safety (another name for 2nd rate security guards)

    Advice to Management

Let things flow... quit trying to make yourself "look" better micromanaging and let the people who do good work, work

    Pros

Decent but restrictive benefits, good pay, some flexible hours. Variety of positions and locations

    Cons

Terrible office politics and favoritism. Promotions, bonuses, and reviews are based on like ability rather than performance and dedication.

    Advice to Management

Most of the management needs to be re-educated or replaced in order to break up the network and gain an understanding of what a team is and what benefits the organization as opposed to the individual.

    Pros

A third of my life is spent at home, a third sleeping and the last third at work. It is important for me to work with co-workers and leaders that create a family-like environment. And that is what I have experienced in my 8 years working here so far.

    Cons

It is a long walk from the parking lot to the campus.

    Pros

Supervisors are supportive and very involved in helping their employees be successful. Integris health offers an excellent wellness program to help employees better themselves.

    Cons

Integris health's weakest point is their pay. Other facilities within the same category offer higher wages for the same job title and they also offering differing wages from one facility to another for the same job class.

    Advice to Management

To keep strong employees who increase patient satisfaction and press ganey scores you need to pay competitive wages.
