Workdays were so enjoyable the hours flew by.

    Process Operator (Former Employee)
    Victoria, TX

ProsEmployees are encouraged to bring all of their skills to the table. If you've got 'em & Invista can use 'em it's a go. You're not confined to a specific area of expertise. Thinking outside the box, challenging standard practices (within limits) and knowledge sharing are all encouraged among what I would call dedicated team members who are driven to succeed.

ConsAnnual 360 evaluations were used. Some employees wrote "evaluation templates" and used word replace to change the name of the person they were evaluating throughout the form. No one noticed. Way too much paperwork with elaborate work permits that had to be hand written for every job no matter how small. Certainly all T's were crossed & all i's dotted but by the time forms were complete & all the proper signatures gathered it was time for shift change.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't be that person who's afraid to make a decision even when the right path to take is obvious. You are part of Management - so manage.

    Good company, Good benefits

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Wilmington, NC

ProsInvista is very good company to work for, they have a very good benefit package.

ConsThey really put a lot on you, doubling up the work and hardly ever getting a break. The pay is not very good, especially for the beach area, cost of living in the area is outrageous,

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn to appreciate the employees more, increase wages to help families.

Not a very employee conscious place to work.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Orange, TX

ProsThe pay was good for the area.

ConsThere was no care given to the welfare of the employees. Overtime was out the roof because the company would not try to keep experienced or new employees from leaving to pursue better careers.

    Pretty good for an internship.

    Chemical Engineer Co-Op (Former Employee)
    Orange, TX

    ProsGood pay.
    Good introduction to the industry.
Get to do some things that are actually relevant to what you'll do when you graduate.

ConsVery slow at first, took a while to get started with projects.
Lots of MOCs and paper work.
The location is terrible if you don't like small towns.

Advice to Senior ManagementWould have like to do less clerical work instead of just MOCs

INVISTA is a great place to work!

    Engineer (Current Employee)

ProsStrong emphasis on company philosophy, business principles, and ethical behavior creates a very positive work environment. Company promotes entrepreneurship by recognizing and rewarding value creation at the individual level.

ConsThe company has hired a substantial number of new employees over the past few years to support growth and offset retirements. This has created a relatively inexperienced work force. Good opportunity for mid career talent but may be challenging for those with less experience.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed to do more around professional development and career development.

INVISTA Won't Be Around for Long!

    Former Employee (Former Employee)
    Kennesaw, GA

ProsFree coffee. Friendly people. MBM principles are awesome when followed.

ConsBenefits; the healthcare plan is horrible. You have to accrue sick time and it is a privately on company so you are not off on all of the national holidays. No raises. Alot of people receive high pay but do offer much to the company. The industry for carpet is not doing well at all. HR is cluesless about the lack of work most of the employees do.

Advice to Senior ManagementFire the baby boomers waiting for retirement and hire intelligent people who can actual turn the business around. If you constantly are losing good people, there is a reason why. Quit promoting and switching the same people around in the company.
