I worked at ITT Technical Institute (less than an year)

    Pros

Being able to assist individuals who are willing to learn and go far in their choice of study.

    Cons

    Micromanagement is very much present.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust your employees, namely your instructors and on-site IT support technicians. Everything being micromanaged up to where only 20% of the "corporate academic curriculum" can be changed for a class to a single printer that could be not installed with a simple driver without contacting the national office in Indianapolis for permission is paranoia of the Orwellian type.

I have been working at ITT Technical Institute full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The only pro I can think of is that they are flexible with your schedule as long as you work your 2 late evenings in a week.

    Cons

There are so many cons that they are too numerous to list, but here are a few: they could care less about the education of students...they just want to make money. They could care less about their employees...they just want to make money. They could care less about a work-life balance (we work MOST holidays and even in snowy/icy weather)...they just want to make money. They outright LIE to people to get them to work in admissions...they just want to make money. The turnover is RIDICULOUS, but they don't care...they just want to make money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Revamp and start all over. This is a horrible place to work and even worse place to attempt to get an education...such a JOKE!!!

    Pros

    Adjunct Instructors have open schedules.

    Cons

CEO states the only employees important to the company are full time staff.
Program Chairs and Deans are not held responsible for open abuse of staff, which is rampant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hold your personnel responsible for abuse of Adjunct staff as they teach 60 to 80% of your students.

    Pros

I cannot think of why I would recommend this to anyone.

    Cons

If you want to feel a sense of pride in your performance this is not the place for you. Not busy enough,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate needs to re-evaluate the system of grading employees on a weekly basis. The school environment is different that it was 5 years ago.
