Current Employee – been working at IUPUI full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – IUPUI offers a great place to work! Alot of great employees that help build an excellent culture. If hired under the right manager you will be given the opportunity to explore and try new things. (only be careful about excepting trying to many things which might be added into your job description with no hopes of compensation)
Cons – Salary is pretty low for the administrative team. Also salary is not evenly dispersed amongst everyone which often leads individuals who complete a higher level tasks paid less than others. The pay scale is very off and you could find yourself stuck in a job making minimal increases despite the fluctuating work load.
Advice to Senior Management – Work out the kinks in the and human resource area. I truly loved working for the university but eventually had to move on as I had a Masters Degree and was still making less than the average high school degree working.

Current Employee – been working at IUPUI full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Good insurance and PTO. Great location. Lots of activities for employees. If you are interested in completing/continuing your education, the tuition benefits are great. Insurance costs are very low and coverage is still very good.
Cons – Very small (if any) raises in last 5 years. Little promotion from within. Systems are cumbersome to learn and to use. Employee morale seems to being sinking and we are losing more and more people to jobs outside of the university.
Advice to Senior Management – Review hiring policies to encourage hiring/promoting from within.

Current Employee – been working at IUPUI full-time for more than a year
Pros – Easy campus to reach. Close to home in you live in Indianapolis
Cons – Everything else you can think of. The cost is not bad, but you literally have no opportunities to recoup your cost with a job after graduation. I'm completing my M.S. in chemistry this fall with a 3.4 gpa and my best prospect in Allison Transmission warehouse worker. Recruitment office did their best to get me hired installing heating and cooling systems (with a degree in chemistry) but could not. What's that tell you?
Advice to Senior Management – Focus on getting your students hired after they graduate. This increases graduate satisfaction and increases alumni contributions.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at IUPUI full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – There are only a few teachers and other faculty members who I can count on one hand that are mindful in my opinion, and worried about the future of their prospective students and other faculty from all backgrounds.
Cons – Beware for this school can be highly discriminative, although this schools screams diversity. There is a lack of minority students in their programs, although I come across lots of smart minority students, who makes the grades. Also if you are a minority, and experience injustice with any faculty member, a problem of this sort will not be looked into and sides will unjustly be taken. I have witnessed unfairity in all directions as a faculty member. I am fair, and don't believe in taking sides which sets me apart from other people who I work with on a daily basis. It is also funny how some of the top professionals over this school are uncaring about this situation. It's hard trying to work and fit in with an environment, where it hurts to see other people be treated so wrongly. It is also hard trying to cope with faculty getting away with treating other faculty so wrongly. The pay is okay but for what it is worth I would have another job by now if it was not for the economy.
Advice to Senior Management – Be cautious of how you treat other people
