I have been working at IWCO Direct full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Lots of room for growth. If you are willing to put in the work, it can/will be noticed. I work with a fantastic and VERY knowledgeable team - there is truly no end to what you can learn. Fair pay, PTO, paid holidays, etc.

    Cons

Since this is a 24 hour company, you are never truly able to disconnect. When issues arise in production, there will be phone calls/emails all hours of the night/weekends.

I have been working at IWCO Direct full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Good pay

    - Decent benefits

    - Flexible hours

    - Holiday bonuses

    - Casual laid back environment

    - Great management and all around down-to-earth people

    Cons

    - There is nothing exciting about what the company does--direct mail (AKA the mail you throw away)

    - Buildings are old and the offices are cramped and cluttered

    - Over staffing: there are a lot of people that seem to get away with doing little to no work at all in the office

    - Future of the company: this was particularly one of my biggest cons. It's no secret that the print and mail industry isn't booming. However, I felt more and more marketing becoming digital and eventually phasing out and shrinking direct mail companies--especially with the rise in cost for mail. Therefore having long-term goals or an everlasting future at IWCO Direct may not be something to gamble on if you're a bright young college grad or someone looking for a one stop shop to employment

    Intern

I have been working at IWCO Direct as an intern

    Pros

Everyone was very friendly. The company wants you to continue working there. Therefore they offer increased each year that you come back for your internship. The pay is what you would expect but matched with the amount of hours they have you work you make pretty good money. The company does try to move you around so that you have a better understanding of the company.

    Cons

Long hours, 12 hours shifts. Its not really an internship, they basically stick you in the back room and make you pack.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To offer more knowledge about the company, more of a learning experience.

I have been working at IWCO Direct full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some departments supervisors are really good. You will enjoy working with them.

    Cons

Some supervisors lack people's management skills. Employees don't stay in the company because of their (some supervisors) behaviors. New employees come in, work like for a month or two and resign just like; very often.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should investigate why employees keep resigning in a certain department.

If you are a "we can't do that" person you should work here

I have been working at IWCO Direct

    Pros

They get a lot out the door and are an industry leader. Management succeeds in getting a lot of free work via overtime from over worked salaried employees.

    Cons

SLOW to change. "We can't do that" mentality, especially their scheduling department who accepts schedules then says they "had to" but they can't make what they agreed to with customers. People promoted to manage other people who do not like people and had no supervisory experience or are not team players themselves and are now in charge of a team. Manager who spends more time trying to get rid of people they don't like than fixing processes and procedures to streamline work. Managers who micro manage their people so bad that it delays work, pulling people on and off projects several times in one day, not allowing SME's the ability to make decisions without fear of retaliation from management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People you like, might not be the best people to promote - ask the people they work with, often the face in front of management is different that what their team sees. People are afraid to make suggestions on changes because they are shunned if they dare open their mouth if something didn't work right. Stop allowing the Scheduling Manager/QA Manager swear at other employees or delay projects because they date suggest the quality level of work produced from his group could have been better. Managers are quick to make excuses about mistakes and they haven't even talked to their employees, or the employee didn't tell the whole story and the wrong people get accused - fearful environment to work in. Promoting ethics and respect for collegues starts at the top, employees are a direct reflection of their managers.
