I worked at Icbc as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

ICBC has a laid-back environment, friendly culture, and good employee. You can be satisfied with the work-life balance.

    Cons

The average salary is less than other commercial banks. And the career opportunity is very limited because most the manager-level employees comes from oversees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Improve the compensation and salaries

I worked at Icbc as an intern

    Pros

The pros of workng here is that you are dealing with very big name client. People there are all well paid. The workign environment is very light, not stressful at all.

    Cons

veryyyyy bureaucratic. This is a typical Chinese national big bank. Everything is happening in a very slow pace. It has a strict hierarchy.

I have been working at Icbc full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great People, Good benefits and vacation package
I used to love to come into work and there was a good balance between staff and management.

    Cons

Management and employee divide, union environment.
No fun environment. I know its work but it has increasingly become a more difficult and "grey" place to work
Im not a complainer but it seems pretty simple. Any private company making this type of revenue would be create a better work environment for its employees but at ICBC this has become less and less of a priority.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I know there is a zero budget but employee appreciation and recognition has to become more of a priority

I have been working at Icbc full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    - good time off days

    Cons

    - Managers get fired out of the blue with no explanations whatever and without regard to tenure
    - If you're a new manager you are first in line when it comes to firing
    - Lower pay compared to other companies
    - Nepotism is rampant
    - Hired a manager from out of the country because he's got family/friend inside (probably the CEO because they are from the same country!), now the team members that the new manager manages are resigning in droves. The new manager also comes in drunk! Very unprofessional executive leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cleanup your executive leadership, they are not following the code of ethics. Nepotism is rampant.

I have been working at Icbc full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Decent pension plan. OK benefits. Average pay.

    Cons

No consideration given by management to make the job easier. Very cheap company. No perks. Management configuration is very disjointed. Super-low employee morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to staff ideas and reasons and actually do something to fix things.

I have been working at Icbc full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The work hours, the location, the benefits (pension, medical, training). They pay 100 % MSP for you and your spouse.

    Cons

The culture is terrible. They make you complete an employee survey, and if they don't get the desired results for a particular question, they omit the question the following year. Same went for customer satisfaction. They could not reach the benchmark so they took it out of the corporate strategy. Instead of fixing problems, they just dismiss them. The new CEO is absent. They figure if people are not leaving and employee satisfaction is poor, why fix it if there is no turn over.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Become transparent, and attempt to complete the tasks of the front line workers to grow some empathy.
