Pros
Stability, excellent benefits, excellent product, the people who work at ICBC
Cons
Large, heirarchal, difficult to move between divisions
Advice to Senior Management
Increase individual accountabilty through empowerment
Pros
Decent compensation (especially consider the workload)
Good work-life balance (if you are not in TP)
Friendly workspace, people care each other
Nice working environment next to Lonsdale Quay
Cons
Incompetent Senior Management - they need their subordinates to "explain" things in so many different angles with same information - hardly can interpret information themselves
Typical unionized workspace - things get down slowly and delays occur consistently
Admins are acting as babysitters - middle managers rely them on thing like printing their emails (why can't they print themselves and spend extra effort to forward, instruct, and wait the paper back)?
Advice to Senior Management
Understand the organization is under transformation, it will be interesting to see how they can improve the efficiency. These middle to high managements are very high maintainence and extremely dependent like a bunch of 3 years old kids.
Pros
Excellent benefits and pension
Opportunities to move within the various divisions in the company
Proud of the product we provide - exceptional insurance coverage for BC motorists
Tuition reimbursement for Insurance Institute of Canada courses / designation
Good vacation allowance
Cons
Crown Corporation resulting in high level of scrutiny.
Bureaucratic
Hierarchal
Internal Politics
