I worked at Icicle Seafoods full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

First of all, friendly envirement and good people. Another thing it was a good location in Seattle which unfortunately is closed.

    Cons

It was interesting to work with mixed nationalities and see unforgetable great cooperation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bob Russell - Maintenance Manager, David Spodobalski - HR along with Carol - Plant Manager; all of these people managed the place in very friendly way thanks to which all employees were really happy.

    Cons

    - Low wage ( per hourly wage)
    - Cold work enviroment
    - really bad/weak network communications

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get to know some of the folks, and what they have to offer for the company.

I have been working at Icicle Seafoods as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Hard work, saving money, adventure, seeing different areas that you'd never see and making great friends.

    Cons

Little privacy, cramped living conditions and working 16 hour days on little sleep.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I like communication and one of the areas Icicle Seafoods lacks is communicating with their employees. It would benefit the company to keep their employees abreast of new changes.

While the Egegik location treated their employees well, Seward branch was run like a prison camp.

I worked at Icicle Seafoods full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Easy hiring process, can't say much else good

    Cons

Poor wages, employers are not open about information such as season ending times, seemingly stringing along employees, poor living conditions. Extremely high turnover rate. Few employees lasted a whole season, so much so that it was difficult to get fired. Employees that don't quit were highly valued, whether good employees or not.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Run Seward more like Egegik.
