    Pros

Honestly, the only benefit is quick cash in a short amount of time. Overtime hours add up fast.

    Cons

In full swing you work 16 hour days, 7 days a week. Pay is pretty bad, but massive amount of hours make up the difference

If you can handle being in a remote location in Alaska, then no cons.

    Pros

First of all, friendly envirement and good people. Another thing it was a good location in Seattle which unfortunately is closed.

    Cons

It was interesting to work with mixed nationalities and see unforgetable great cooperation.

    Advice to Management

Bob Russell - Maintenance Manager, David Spodobalski - HR along with Carol - Plant Manager; all of these people managed the place in very friendly way thanks to which all employees were really happy.

    Pros

Working in Alaska with room and board, and excellent food. Very ngood money in terms of getting paid by the hour. No where else in the lower 48, will you find one company that you can get up to 100 hours a week.

    Cons

    - Low wage ( per hourly wage) - Cold work enviroment - really bad/weak network communications

    Advice to Management

Get to know some of the folks, and what they have to offer for the company.

    Pros

Free flight from Seattle, WA to Alaska with 3 flights & Helicopter ride that landed on the back of the ship. Also got overtime after 8 hours of work each day. 3 meals a day plus movie time and played many games including Bingo with prizes! Free room & board. Plus a trip home on the ship back to Seattle, WA

    Cons

16 hours a day for 1 month straight. Safety and rules dedicated.

    Advice to Management

Very Strong Team Work within the company. Total Leadership on board. Excellent company's values and policies for Advancement.

  8. While the Egegik location treated their employees well, Seward branch was run like a prison camp.

I worked at Icicle Seafoods full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Easy hiring process, can't say much else good

    Cons

Poor wages, employers are not open about information such as season ending times, seemingly stringing along employees, poor living conditions. Extremely high turnover rate. Few employees lasted a whole season, so much so that it was difficult to get fired. Employees that don't quit were highly valued, whether good employees or not.

    Advice to Management

    Run Seward more like Egegik.

    Pros

It looks great on a resume to get some time in on a boat in Alaska.

    Cons

Pay is terrible, management is full of yes men. No compassion when it comes to anything other than the work.

    Advice to Management

Don't offer management positions dependent upon time with the company, pay attention to the abilities of your employees.
