    Pros

The people are the best in the world. Benefits are top notch but changing. Pay is above industry average but again constantly changing

    Cons

Changing all the good things after restructuring. Jobs eliminated, pay restructured to benefit only top few performers, benefits changed to reflect cost saving for company vs. employee

I worked at Idearc Media full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I cannot think of one "pro" for this company. From the start this company was a sinking ship, until they got de-listed from the stock market and had to change names.

    Cons

Management and higher leadership positions do not know or care what bottom or even mid-level employees are doing, and manage from the top-down, not caring how or what it affects outside of their own limited view.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get some leadership education.

    Pros

Very stable job. People thought you were weird if you worked nights and weekends.

    Cons

Company has adversarial relationship with its customers. There is a huge cultural disconnect between the sales organization and the marketing teams.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on creating long-term shareholder value over quarterly earnings.

I worked at Idearc Media full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Potential for making good money

    Cons

-During training, you are explicitly instructed to sell as you were trained and not to do any research into the amount of searches or leads that are truly in that area.
-We were instructed to tell a potential client that we could increase their contacts to 30-50 per month if they followed the exact plan (which is virtually impossible to follow). While doing research on the actual amount of searches for their area of expertise, you may find that they only truly have 5 searches on a monthly basis within 50 miles of their location. How exactly can you ethically sell to this person?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sell the truth, nothing more, nothing less

Former Employee - Regional Sales Manager in Glen Allen, VA

I worked at Idearc Media full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The company is not what it used to be. The company has gone through many changes and is continuing to go through changes. The best thing about the company are its people but many of the best people are leaving as they realize it's not what it used to be.

    Cons

Change for the sake of change. It's good that they constantly add new products but then set unrealistic goals to the new products even if the product is not a good for clients.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your people, seek their feedback, and pay attention to why your best people are all looking for new jobs!
