I worked at Ilfc full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Everything about ILFC. I liked going to work everyday.

    Cons

I was laid off after it was sold to another company.

    Advice to Management

Most of the upper management I worked for was laid off as well or were moved to another office for the new company in another country. I very much liked the management I was under.

    Pros

Most talented & amazing group of professionals I have ever had the honor of working with. Management recognized that if you treat your staff well (and i mean amazingly well), they will work twice as hard for the company in return. Really, I have never seen people strive so hard to do an amazing job! Finest group of professionals ever!

    Cons

Watching the systematic dismantling of the entire ILFC operation was heartbreaking to say the least. AerCap will never know what they destroyed!

    Pros

    this was a great company

    Cons

it was sold by AIG but yet AIG still owns 46% of the company who purchased ILFC

    Advice to Management

Why do all the executives have a four year balloon payout, what happens to the company after four years. I would be concerned if I was a Board member.

I worked at Ilfc full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Market leader in what is a fairly niche business of aircraft leasing. Team of very professional folks. Great medical / dental benefits.

    Cons

Many integration issues following the acquisitions by AerCap. Potential case study for what-not-to-do in an acquisitions by a smaller acquirer of a larger target company. Work life balance is not great. There may be limited career growth in certain departments.

I worked at Ilfc full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They pay very well, give staff the flexibility to work without micromanagement, everyone is friendly and cheerful. Gym on the premises. Catering, free drinks very people focused company.

    Cons

The company is in the process of a buyout. Big changes are ahead

    Advice to Management

Retain most of the ILFC staff. They have been in the industry for many years and know what they are doing.

    Pros

I have been working at Ilfc full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The benefits and location (Century City) are as good as it gets and the people are very well educated and provide interesting perspectives. It's a niche industry which I enjoy thoroughly and ILFC is that big fish in the small pond. Not to mention, there is a company gym for employee use only and the offices are absolutely gorgeous.

    Cons

Depending on the department there can be some long hours but most feel appropriately compensated. There has been a lot of change for the company over the past few years with change in management and now possibly change in ownership which will most likely be a 'Pro' but sometimes people fear the unknown.

    Pros

The people here are really great to work with. Henri is a great CEO. Excellent benefits. Fun place to spend the majority of your day. It's one big family.

    Cons

HR has definitely gone downhill. Blatantly favors management over rest of employees. This company is the epitome of 'dangling the carrot' promotions wise. Small bonuses, low incentives to have work product above average.

    Advice to Management

Promote and recognize the good workers. And taking the admin staff out for cocktails once a year instead of pay raises that are much deserved doesn't cut it.

I have been working at Ilfc full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

-not a lot of dead weight - people here are sharp and work hard -insurance and benefits to employees are great

    Cons

    - As a smaller company, it can be difficult to navigate out of your current role or expand - Opportunity varies by department

    Advice to Management

I think the recent changes over the past couple of years are putting ILFC on the right path

    Pros

great people, benefits, team....everyone is willing to work with you in getting to know the industry. a/c leasing is such a unique business that many people may think you work for the CIA b/c not many people have heard of it or know what we do...also, you eat a LOT here. there are many meetings, and the lunches are always FAB.

    Cons

there is a culture of seniority.

    Advice to Management

none...I don't think i have enough experience here to give any advice.
