    Pros

Great benefits and a lot of room for advancement!

    Cons

Working for 18-22 year olds can be very draining.

  2. Instructor

I have been working at Illinois State part-time

    Pros

Fantastic leadership at the University from the President down to department chairs. There are also some really fantastic opportunities for getting involved at the University and in the community.

    Cons

There are none that come to mind. Of course, it would be nice if more tenure positions were opened, but that is more of an issue with state funding than with the University itself.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing and do your best to try and find as much funding as possible for departments. Extra space for growth would be good too considering the increase in enrollment.

    Pros

Meal provided before or after a 4 hour managerial work shift / Relatively easy to trade shifts, pick up shifts, or find a substitute for your shift / If competent and put out fires as they rise, shifts can be be of ease / Great co-workers, administration, and subordinates

    Cons

Astonishing levels of incompetency from both costumers as well as subordinates / Must take an appropriate amount of time to train every employee on shift otherwise you will have subjected yourself to their duties every shift (more of a tip) / Stuck with employees when they should have been fired (or in some cases not even hired) / Understaffed resulting in extremely hectic shifts and holiday weekend shifts resulting in four hour shifts of unbelievable boredom

    Advice to Management

REQUIRE ACTUAL JOB APPLICATIONS AND EVEN 5 MINUTE INTERVIEWS - many, if not the majority, employees do not take job seriously whatsoever because they need to fill out work eligibility forms and a one page "application" and lose respect for position before even officially hired / employees must respect their position and have a slight sense of fear of losing their job if failing to complete required responsibilities in order for improvement
