    Pros

Small, flexible and high Tech! Our industry, background screening is very young which means it is growing very fast! People are laid back but work really hard!

    Cons

Need one more bath room to share. I't stays busy all the time! Owner is brillant, but he takes on too much of the adminstration side of the business. He has no life which is sad.

I have been working at Imagination Technologies full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Surrounded by some fantastic engineers.
Develop leading technology across multiple fields so numerous interesting projects to be part of / learn about.
Growing very rapidly so opportunities for career development as teams have to scale.
Very exciting times as the company becomes more well known and talked about.
Invests heavily in its employees so its not a company people want to leave.

    Cons

As above, the company is growing very rapidly and its difficult to get the people the company needs. This affects employees but is also not necessarily something the company do a great deal about.
Office space is a little problematic at times, but this will be resolved as numerous new buildings are under construction.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company is doing a lot of interesting things, make sure that all employees are aware of them since, like the company meeting, they inspire and motivate people a lot.

    Pros

The culture is an open one where you're encouraged to work closely with any engineer in any department in any team at any time, to get the right expertise and input into your work so you can do a great job. Nobody is off limits, including the CEO and architecture team, and we work on some of the most exciting and popular consumer electronics on the market, so the satisfaction in seeing people enjoy your work is everywhere.

    Cons

There are some growing pains as the company adds staff quickly, and the existing buildings are becoming cramped.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure the engineers lower in the company know that you appreciate their hard work.

I have been working at Imagination Technologies

    Pros

It is amazing to be involved with technologies that are leading the industry and having a customer base that reads like a who's who of the best technology companies around the globe. The working environment is very positive due to people's genuine enthusiasm for the work we are doing and the fact that all are confident about the company's near and long term potential.

    Cons

The learning curves can be quite steep. Many employees have been here for a very long time, so new people can find it harder to integrate and be included.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fantastic dedication among senior leaders and staff, try to build better communication channels.

I have been working at Imagination Technologies full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

For the short stay I have had until now with the company I'm more satisfied then not. Mainly because as a young engineer I'm seeking to gain knowledge over money.
The company gives a unique work experience, it is a top dog on the mobile graphics market. The work tasks are very complex and require a certain amount of time to be spent before even starting doing something as easy as changing one line of code.
People are in general very helpful and most of the senior and principal guys aren't afraid of sharing the Do's and Don'ts.
Work and life balance is also very good - no white nights, no excessive extra hours spend after work.
In general very good company for new comers like me to learn, give back and create valuable relationships and connections.

    Cons

The management and hierarchical system is very chaotic and without any basic goals to be obtained before stepping up the ladder. In other words you can receive very good appraisals but be stuck at a position for many years just because your personal manager doesn't stick up to you or don't know how to play the office managerial politics game.
Salaries are bellow the average for the sector and the company knows it. They also know that the work is very complex but also if you have the passion for graphics hardware or software you don't really have that many options.
In general a demotivating environment for old employees who work a lot but don't shout it out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give clear objectives how and when people should progress. It can be really demotivating for a senior employee to see how the company at least on the side seem to cherish more the new comers. And I'm saying that from the position of a new comer.
Maybe include a bonus system so teams that do great are rewarded appropriately.
Obviously salary increases to at least follow the industry average would be nice too.

I have been working at Imagination Technologies full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

+ Growing company with lots of young engineers, good mix of young and experienced engineers
+ Depending upon which division you're in you'd be encouraged to challenge yourself and others to make contributions for the right reasons
+ Much less politics than some other organizations
+ If you're constructive, people like to listen to you
+ Gym options, sports and social, shares and stock options, private health insurance (free for the employee)
+ You're encouraged to say the truth and do the right thing, in some case you're rewarded for doing so

    Cons

+ Training and other processes are somewhat younger than other organizations, but then there is a concerted effort to make things better
+ Generally good with infrastructure, but in some cases have gone overboard with styling and architecture and less focus on providing some essentials such as whiteboards
+ No talent recognition system, no plans to make sure the best employees get rewarded and the not so good ones managed out
+ No individual bonuses to a vast majority of employees
+ Salaries could be better given the proximity to London and cost of living

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

+ Think about employee retention a bit more
+ Have a talent recognition system
+ Prune the dead wood out
