    Pros

Interesting work, some freedom to make decisions Informal Challenging

    Cons

No strict objectives from upper management makes difficult to choose what to do to progress on your career. Pay is low compared to other companies.

    Advice to Management

Push the executives for higher pays to keep talents in, the company loses good people because of pay, and also makes managers job hard because of quick worker turnaround.

  5. Software design engineer hyderabad

    Pros

nothing much. you get good work if you are born with golden spoon and if you can worship your manager(need not consider lead incase if you have). If you just obey whatever your manager says you can be lead in 4-5years even though it is product based company. If you dont learn anything just treat the job like data entry job you will have bright future and will be rewarded with promotion and hikes

    Cons

If you are not of above type you dont get any of the earthquaking offers mentioned above

    Advice to Management

Great job keep doing the same.

    Pros

good technologies to work good employee cooperation lot of scope to learn

    Cons

too much of variations in the salary for the guys with same experience no work life balance. you are forced to stay 9 hours even if you are not assigned any work. everybody is a lead or manager with no team members managers with zero management skills you get appraisal only if you are either a relative or say yes to everything that your boss says. you show your offer letter, you get hike. if you continue working in the company you get peanuts. always chant the boss name and be in good books and you get very good hike in salary or promotion. you get promotion only if you are either a relative or say yes to everything that your manager says . if somebody in your team or other team gets promotion, you make that a big issue and get promotion. never try to give any suggestions or ideas. you will be treated as enemy. managers not open to new ideas or suggestions. you are forced to follow what they think is right. managers take every thing personal. they don't have any exposure to outside world. 90 percent of the managers started their career in the same company (Hellosoft) unequal distribution of work. few are always busy and others are idle. never treat the employees the same.

    Advice to Management

UK team has to closely monitor both technical and financial matters of hyderabad division. make sure the salaries are competent with the industry standards and not too much of variation in the salary for the guys with almost same experience

I worked at Imagination Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You do get useful experience on how the industry works and you get exposure to workflows etc. Compensation is decent I suppose.

    Cons

Very little creative work you can very easily get stuck with maintenance of nightmarish codebases with no say at all, all this contrary to the job spec. As a graduate you are completely expendable and unappreciated. You main activities will involve running behind other people's mess. Benefits such as stocks that you can cash in after 5 years and relocation expenses which you must pay back if you leave before 2 years are a joke.

    Advice to Management

Hire more senior/talented people instead of swarms of graduates invest in good practices and build a better culture/environment.

I have been working at Imagination Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

+ Growing company with lots of young engineers, good mix of young and experienced engineers + Depending upon which division you're in you'd be encouraged to challenge yourself and others to make contributions for the right reasons + Much less politics than some other organizations + If you're constructive, people like to listen to you + Gym options, sports and social, shares and stock options, private health insurance (free for the employee) + You're encouraged to say the truth and do the right thing, in some case you're rewarded for doing so

    Cons

+ Training and other processes are somewhat younger than other organizations, but then there is a concerted effort to make things better + Generally good with infrastructure, but in some cases have gone overboard with styling and architecture and less focus on providing some essentials such as whiteboards + No talent recognition system, no plans to make sure the best employees get rewarded and the not so good ones managed out + No individual bonuses to a vast majority of employees + Salaries could be better given the proximity to London and cost of living

    Advice to Management

+ Think about employee retention a bit more + Have a talent recognition system + Prune the dead wood out

I have been working at Imagination Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

For the short stay I have had until now with the company I'm more satisfied then not. Mainly because as a young engineer I'm seeking to gain knowledge over money. The company gives a unique work experience, it is a top dog on the mobile graphics market. The work tasks are very complex and require a certain amount of time to be spent before even starting doing something as easy as changing one line of code. People are in general very helpful and most of the senior and principal guys aren't afraid of sharing the Do's and Don'ts. Work and life balance is also very good - no white nights, no excessive extra hours spend after work. In general very good company for new comers like me to learn, give back and create valuable relationships and connections.

    Cons

The management and hierarchical system is very chaotic and without any basic goals to be obtained before stepping up the ladder. In other words you can receive very good appraisals but be stuck at a position for many years just because your personal manager doesn't stick up to you or don't know how to play the office managerial politics game. Salaries are bellow the average for the sector and the company knows it. They also know that the work is very complex but also if you have the passion for graphics hardware or software you don't really have that many options. In general a demotivating environment for old employees who work a lot but don't shout it out.

    Advice to Management

Give clear objectives how and when people should progress. It can be really demotivating for a senior employee to see how the company at least on the side seem to cherish more the new comers. And I'm saying that from the position of a new comer. Maybe include a bonus system so teams that do great are rewarded appropriately. Obviously salary increases to at least follow the industry average would be nice too.
