I have been working at Immucor full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The only pro I can think of is the parking.

    Cons

Save yourself people. Where do I begin? Every week somebody is fired and for no reason. The turnover rate is like none anyone has ever seen. The management and directors over manufacturing don't have a clue about the processes or the products they manufacture. All management are in meaningless meetings all day talking about the same stuff over and over, and if you require your managers assistance forget about it. Nothing you do here really matters work wise because the managers are all backstabbers and have favorites. They approve PTO for the ones they like and screw the rest. They'll hire you and tell you a set schedule then later on tell you you've been assigned to a mandatory weekend. There are several managers not qualified and as a result lots of fingerprointing going on. Everybody walks around stressed and afraid. All salary and/or management positions work 10-12+ hours a day and weekends. They mistreat lower level employees with ridiculous hours and insulting base pay. Products continuously fail and managers pressure employees to falsely pass them to be released. There is racism, favoritism, retaliation, documentation falsification and all those good illegal acts going on here openly. The company is run by several people with no degrees and some with no high school diplomas! I could go on and on, but as I said before save yourself. I don't know a single employee happy to be here. In just here until I find something else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop going to lunch with each other for hours on end and sleeping with each other and learn what your employees actually do. Transfusion medicine is not a game, it's serious.

I have been working at Immucor full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Smaller company so a more intimate feel. In technical positions they only hire people with lots of experience so you're working with people that know what they're doing. Everyone is very friendly and there is lots of flexibility because it's smaller. Benefits are equal or better than most other bio-tech companies with just under 4 weeks PTO, 401(k), medical, dental, education assistance all after 90 days. The products are strong, that's how a small company was able to obtain a dominating share of the market and hold of the largest competitors.

    Cons

Because it's a smaller company there is limited career and growth opportunities. Not a lot of room to move up if there's less people at the top. Also, we have a lot of manual processes due to not keeping up with technology when growth has happened through the year (such as using Excel to track inventory instead of automated system)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to invest in technology and keep up communication. Projects always seem to be getting "delayed" You're not a small company anymore and the recent product problems seem to be a condition of trying to act like one.

    Pros

Good benefits (401k,dental,medical,etc..) Good associates to work with.

    Cons

Heavy workloads with work schedules always changing and long work days 10-14hr days.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need updated manufacturing and additional resources to adhere, to have balance workloads and efficiency to what the manufacturing departments needs to overcome the growing pains and to stay competitive of the competition and surrounding manufacturing industries. .
