Pros
Great salaries, Is a type of job that can help you accomplish the american dream. The opportunities of growth are endless. If you have what it takes this is the job for you
Cons
Lots of pressure, work long hours. The higher you move up the more they own you. Extremely stressful for small situations. Dealing with lots of teenage kids.
Advice to Senior Management
Yes, She is doing an excellent job at running the company. I know that the company will grow with time. She has leadership in her blood. We need to show honest support and better communication between the ranks.
Pros
Good atmosphere and hour salary for a hamburger joint
Cons
Many employees are young so they may bring the high school mentality into the job
Pros
good pay and opportunities to move up within the company. where good when it came to customer service and cleanliness.
Cons
Sends employees home after working a hour, Didn't train just threw me out there to figure things out on my own, and wouldnt work around school schedules.
Advice to Senior Management
Work with employees school schdules since you pride yourself on family and school coming before work. And train employees properly.
Pros
In N Out is a great place to work. They offer dental, and some other type of benefits. The company really cares about its associates, we all are treated with respect. There is a Christmas party every year and we all are taken care of very well. Easy to move up and get raises as long as you aren't preoccupied.
Cons
There may be an issue sometimes with receiving a promotion, sometimes you may need to suck up to management. The work can be stressful at times. If you are at a busy store you may be required to work crappy hours sometimes. Biggest con is closing at 1:30am
Advice to Senior Management
Treat your associates how you would like to be treated. Do not look at things like "old school" and make work fun!
Pros
Hourly rate. Free food. Great environment. Great experience.
Cons
Fast food. Fast paced. Busy all day, every day.
Advice to Senior Management
Great Job.
Pros
Free food, good starting pay compared to industry standard. Very flexible when it comes to work schedule. Interacting with the customers.
Cons
There are not too many cons, but I would say sometimes it can get annoying if management is not all the same page. Customers can sometimes be too complicated with orders.
Advice to Senior Management
Be more selective about who you allow to be in management. Offer leadership courses that train those in high positions how to get the most out of their employees.
Pros
I worked at In N Out for 3.5 yrs and loved it. When I needed to be temporarily relocated for medical reasons the company completely understood and another store accommodated me with the more hours than I was getting at my original store. You can make a lot of close friends and some stores even see themselves as a family and do everything together. If you really show the managers that you want to move up and keep improving then you will be moved up quickly. Overall fun company to work for but it is hard and fast paced work so there is no time for slacking off! Had to leave cause of moving to another state and miss it!
Cons
If you want a job where you can just breeze on by through your hours with doing nothing then this is not the job for you! Work can be very stressful especially during rushes and especially if the rush is at night, mainly because managers schedule significantly less employees to work nights. Can be an adrenaline rush though! Also (not in every store obviously) sometimes when people move up they get this false sense of "I'm better than you" almost like a popularity contest which can be rather annoying and managers tend to turn a blind eye at times so try to report things cause most likely others have done the same which can easily fix the problem.
If you are looking for full time you gotta be dedicated. It's really hard to get it and keep it. Managers like to schedule you just shy of the target hours you need and it can get frustrating.
Advice to Senior Management
There were times when some store managers would make up their own rules that would replace the ones the company had already set for its employees. Maybe take a little more time to enforce these as it can get confusing on which to follow. Other than that the experience is pretty awesome!
Pros
In-N-Out:
Pays well (as of 9/29/11, they pay $10 starting wage in CA)
Has decent benefits
Flexible with school
Cons
-Inconsistent Pay: While the hourly wage is great, hours fluctuate greatly until you move up in the company. Throughout your time there, it can be anywhere from 10-40+ hours per week. Pay varies every week, so every check is pretty different.
-Benefits are good (vision and dental for part-timers). However, the company doesn't seem to cover a lot of practitioners.
-Sales and competition are pushed quite a bit for a fast food place; can be over the top and stressful.
-In my limited experience (only worked at one store), management doesn't do much. My manager plays on his phone for most of the day.
Advice to Senior Management
It would be helpful if you applied the "no phone" rule to your managers as well. And treat your employees with more respect.
Pros
They pays really good, much high then other establishments.
They have a wide range of hours to be worked because of how late they are open.
Lots of opportunity for advancement if desired.
Cons
expect to get dirty every day and the work is not easy. You have to enjoy pulling your load, and you defiantly need to be able to handle stressful situations well or you wont last long.
Advice to Senior Management
leadership needed some work from the lower level managers, they all had their own way of doing things and it became really frustrating. The main manage did a really great job.
Pros
- great with hours
- everyone is fun to work with
- great chance to learn about leadership, customer service and how to run a business
- putting a smile on peoples faces
Cons
- Some inconsistency with certain managers.
- Sometimes customers can take advantage of our friendliness.
Advice to Senior Management
Overall, the managers at In-N-Out are doing a very good job compared to other places. Just continue to improve everyday.
