I have been working at InComm full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I work out of the Portland, OR office. The office is full of vibrant and fun people. There are lots of activities schedule for after work and everyone generally works hard. The age is skewed toward late-20's but there is a good mix of seniority.

    Cons

Typical challenges of legacy code bases and trying to adjust things for new business model. There is not enough time in the day to make everything pristine since things need to be prioritized.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't lose the office culture. I always see a mass migration whenever that happens. Portland does not have the volume of good talent like a Boston / NYC, and there are plenty of people hiring.

I have been working at InComm full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The culture and the people are what keep me excited to come into work each day. The overall culture in our Portland office can be summed up as "work hard, play hard." Employees here, at all levels are empowered to make a difference and it is easy to be heard. This company rewards and thrives on innovation. We push each other to build great products and even though we don't always start out in agreement on the best way to solve a problem, we always end up in the same boat rowing the same direction. The level of technical talent in this office is as high as you will find anywhere. The compensation is extremely competitive, coupled with the downtown location and comradely, this has got to be one of the best places to work in the city if not anywhere.

    Cons

The company is growing very fast so organizational structure or process can change very quickly. It is sometimes hard to keep up with what's happening outside your immediate department. The management team is starting to do a better job of communicating vision, but it's not always clear.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you are doing in Portland and keep investing in your people and the processes to ensure the level of people working here stays where it is at.

    Pros

Beautiful building, great people. Love the company values, it's a strong company that is growing at a fast rate. Can see this being a fortune 500 company in the future!

    Cons

Commuting can get bad especially since the headquarters are located in Atlanta. If you get to work between 6-10 AM or leave between 4:45 - 6 PM it can really be a problem.

    Pros

I met some wonderful people. I am still friends with many of them today.

    Cons

Work Life balance is non-existent. You WILL work during the holiday season (Thanksgiving and Christmas). If merchants are running transactions you are working. Watch out for BUSES, you will be ran over or thrown under one, there is no getting around that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change is top down!!! Servant Leadership. Humility. Gratitude.

I worked at InComm full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Entrepreneurial spirit, fast-paced, able to contribute and make a difference for the most part. Good place to get lots of experience - usually left to work independently. Very much a roll-up-your-sleeves and get it done type of environment. Lots of work to do, company is growing quickly.

    Cons

Lacking leadership, expensive healthcare benefits, the different teams/divisions work in silos - don't talk to each other, lack of process. Not a great place to work for those that are very process oriented. Internal promotions/growth unlikely. Constant re-organizations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn what work is being done below management level so when decisions are being made, organizationally, they make sense. Need more process in place and tools to make work done easier and more efficiently.
