    Pros

World class education. Opportunity to interact with the best statisticians in the country. Great placements (both jobs and research)

    Cons

Since only the best students are selected for the academic programs, a moderately smart student with relatively poor grades may be overlooked.

I have been working at Indian Statistical Institute full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I am enrolled as master's degree student with Indian Statistical Institute. The environment is great and students get an enhanced exposure to what research is. At the institute students are taught to work with many types of tools, which provides them enough competency to gain formidable positions and designations with the possible employers.

    Cons

The courses offered are totally focused on research stuff. At times proper and correct interpretation of things become a bit difficult.
