    Positive Outlook

I worked at Indiana Wesleyan part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They are very flexible for full time students and provide a variety of opportunities to succeed. They work as a team and truly try to better you as person.

    Cons

The pay is not ideal, but I was a student when working there. It inhibits you to get used to what the real workplace would be like because they tend to be more conscious that you are a student.

    Advice to Management

I would highly recommend a different pay system and would apperciate a more life-like workplace. Thank you for being flexible and teaching me leadership and values to bring into the world.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Indiana Wesleyan full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The benefits are good, paid sick time, vacation time, the health insurance is higher now but decent, wellness plans

    Cons

Lack of diversity, racial slander used ( Facility Services), verbally abusive management, lack of communication, low pay, concerns swept under the rug and incompetent management

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees when they come to you with concerns and solutions to problems. Treat your employees with respect and discipline management who are violating the rules for employment.

    Pros

If you are an Evangelical Christian, you will feel incredibly welcomed. Students are for the most part kind and respectful.

    Cons

Administration and faculty work from a place of fear. Academic freedom is not practiced here.

    Advice to Management

Be Christian in every way, not simply when it is convenient and advantageous.

    Pros

    Positive work environment, great employees.

    Cons

Pay is low, and the institution has trouble retaining talent. Also the lifestyle commitment can be a stumbling block for some who don't share the exact same values as the wesleyan church.

I worked at Indiana Wesleyan part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Friendly office environment - New faces everyday - Know their employees and work to observe & use their individual skills - Safe campus with lots of parking - Care about the students

    Cons

    - Offices often move locations on campus (makes things confusing) - Student workers are paid minimum wage (7.25/hr), no matter what their job performance is or how long they have been working there

    Advice to Management

Although my individual office was FABULOUS and gave me gifts like support for my study abroad trip & end of the year gift cards, the school in and of itself does not recognize the loyal & hard work of many of its student workers. Perhaps boost our pay $0.25/ hr for each year of good performance doing the same job?

I have been working at Indiana Wesleyan full-time

    Pros

amazing environment, no dog eat dog personalities, people are ready to work collaboratively, amazing bosses. amazing benefits, easy to be an influencer, beautiful campus.

    Cons

There is a lot that the university has to deal with in terms of religious freedoms and that comes in the way of it performing it's daily duties.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Indiana Wesleyan full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

good colleagues (trench warfare mentality of the institution forces you to bond quickly) Some very nice people work in support positions as well.

    Cons

Administration has tunnel vision focus on nursing and the seminary. If your job doesn't have anything to do with that (cutting grass, teaching philosophy) don't unpack.

    Advice to Management

Stop chasing fads and let your workers do their best. Management does not equal nagging, harassing and creating new hoops to jump through.
