    Pros

Excellent pto - given 40 hours quarterly. At 5 year mark gain an extra 40 hours making it 50 hours per quarter. Most staff are friendly and passionate about their jobs.

    Cons

New management of my department has proven to be remarkably bad - purely reactionary, no deductive reasoning skills, micro-managing, lacks the ability to delegate and trust.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within when you have more-than capable employees. Departments should work together instead of against each other.

    I worked at Indianapolis Zoo

    Pros

I liked that I was able to work outdoors, when the weather was nice. I also got to see animals.

    Cons

    Extreme sexism and some racism.

Lack of communication between bosses and their employees.

Obvious favoritism in departments and people.

My boss requested I pick up a dirty diaper that was thrown in bushes while he sat laughing at me.

    Advice to Management

Be aware of the way you treat your employees. They are people.

    Pros

Working around animals and meeting new people.

    Cons

Pay, no benefits, bad management, no advancement, Admin would rather hire from outside then from within.

    Advice to Management

Fair pay to seasonal employees, offer benefits to supervisor roles, take lower employees opinions into consideration they are the ones that do the dirty work.
