    I worked at Inditex full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Employees are very friendly, job growth.

    Cons

    Mostly Spanish speaking, so definite language barrier at times.
    Open office, but way too open, one big room with no separation of departments by walls or partitions, just tables. Cannot really carry a conversation in confidence.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be a little more forgiving with employees, especially when they are invested in the company.

    I worked at Inditex full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    None.
    If you want to count decent health insurance and vacation days, then fine.

    Cons

    Management is the WORST I've ever seen in Corporate. They lack the necessary knowledge and do nothing. Whoever is hiring internally has no idea what they are doing, which is clear by the high turnover rate. Highly unprofessional, I would never recommend this company to anyone. No perks. The sad thing is that the company is expanding rapidly in the American market.

    You will never grow in this company unless you are
    1. Spanish
    2. Are buddy buddy with the uppers
    3. Are from Spain

    There is one problem I have with the people coming from the Spain HQ -- How can you bring people to work in the US when they have no sense of American culture, laws, practices, etc?! And give them management positions at that?! Makes absolutely no sense.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Value your employees.

    I have been working at Inditex part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    If you are looking to progress within fashion or retail industry INDITEX could be a good gym to learn how to be multitasking, quickly and prepared.

    If you are lucky, you could have a nice European team to work with( Spanish and Italian most).

    Possibility to grow up quickly( if you are Spanish/ friend with managers)

    Cons

    - low consideration human right ( no possibility to plan a personal life as the daily rota changing);
    - a kind of "mafia" between management;
    - no meritocracy;
    - the company try to save money as much as possible( This summer we were without air conditions at all.
    Customer and employees refused to work because of the non human condition).

    Former Employee - Store Manager in Istanbul (Turkey)
    Former Employee - Store Manager in Istanbul (Turkey)

    I worked at Inditex full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Working at a global company which has 8 brands that appeal to everyone.

    Cons

    Flexible working hours (by flexible I mean 52 hours -on paper- during sales week! Always getting negative feedbacks related to the things that were not taughtearlier. I mentioned this to one of my store managers. I said 'do not take it personal but 16 out of 20 feedbacks I get are negative, I wish there was some kind of a written thing that tells us our basic responsibilities before trial and error period. This will not only shorten our training period but also would be a good guide. I know it is a hands-on-job but always getting negative feedback demotivates us.' She said, when you go to your own store, you can write a booklet and make a contribution to the company!!! Really??? I would if they hadn't fired me. They fired me because I was a strong character who always said the truth instead of lying or flattering. They said we want to see your management skills, then they were surprised I guess and fired. I don't know other brands of Indıtex or other countries, but in Turkey, if you are applying as a store manager, get ready to harsh criticism, sometimes even yelling, working with egocentric people and so on. They want silent characters, manager title has a different definition there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    HR area managers should work hand in hand with all the managers, not just with the experienced ones. Men and women balance is really important. My brand had only women which was such a big challenge for me to communicate. I believe I would be a very good asset to your company as I work hard but unfortunately the store managers that I worked with didn't let me. And HR managers didn't even care about my opinions. New and fresh people are always beneficial for the companies, but Inditex Turkey is not ready for modernism. Sorry.
