I have been working at Infogroup full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great in terms of work life balance. I couldn't ask for better superiors. They are very understanding and flexible when it comes to family matters. There is a very laid back atmosphere that encourages collaboration and teamwork that keeps everyone motivated.

    Cons

There isn't a well defined career path. In order to climb the ladder, you have to move departments or wait for someone above you to be promoted or leave the company. Pay could be better also.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward your employees for hard work and a job well done. Help them to grow to benefit your company, not someone else's.

I have been working at Infogroup full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Provides plenty of new opportunities for responsibility. Colleagues are great.
    Schedules are flexible.

    Cons

No raise in pay if you move up from within the company. Raises are always better requested "Next Quarter".... no real "Perks". Very boring and gray in the building, and corporate culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please stop moving teams around, and really consider paying to keep your people.

I have been working at Infogroup full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Trying hard to think of "Pros." My boss let me modify my hours so that I could come in earlier...that was a good thing.

    Cons

Everything is an emergency, there's no planning, it's just a big, disheveled pile of IT that makes little sense and doesn't work too well. Vacancies not back-filled in a timely manner, which makes turn-over/training impossible or at best, difficult. Management mismanages pretty much everything. We can't even get functionally relevant technical books for our team. There is an open and tangible disdain for employees on my team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Adopt some 6 Sigma or something... Get a grip.

I have been working at Infogroup as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

There are many divisions within Infogroup. and this company provides a lot of opportunities to try new jobs at different locations.

    Cons

The company was a public company, which was taken private by a private equity company. since then there had been a lots of volatility within the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management first need to address the anxiety within the employees. So they are free and focus on work, rather than talking about the mismangement all the time.

I worked at Infogroup full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Infogroup was a great company to work for up until about 2008. After CCMP too over in 2010 it has been all downhill ever since.

    Cons

No room for advancement. Compensation plans very from year to year and keep getting worse. Hostile work environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start taking care of your employees or they will all leave.

I have been working at Infogroup full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The people you get to work with are generally great.

    Cons

The management, particularly upper management, is lacking in vision and long-term outlook. The company is owned by an investment firm...management appears to be in it for the exit (i.e. their big payoff when the owner sells the company...which it WILL do - it's part of its business model).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not to sound flippant, but they need to get a clue - these are peoples' lives/careers their dealing with here.

I worked at Infogroup full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great experience working in a large corporate B2B space. Lots of experience to be shared from the people who have been there for a long time. Good place to start a career.

    Cons

Lack of company culture. Lots of departments that do not work very well together. Lots of red tape and procedures to get things accomplished. VPs defer to each other instead of heading their team/department. People tend to be in the same positions for a long time with either little incentive or desire to move.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Build a company culture. Some VPs attempt this, some do not. Stand up for your team or at the very least discuss failures or issue with them before meetings and call them out.

    Pros

You can learn latest technologies as the IT team adopt new technologies. It is OK company to work but there are much better employers around.

    Cons

Very bad benefits. Company needs to improve benefits. After new management took over benefits went bad.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of you employees who work hard for the organization.
