It is what you make of it

    Regional Sales Manager (Former Employee)

ProsInfor really values and rewards the contribution of the individual employee.
See continuous growth both organically and through acquisition.
Always developing new ERP realted tools and technologies.

ConsConstant turnover of management, especially in sales.
Due to the way Infor was built, little standardization is in place between ERP products, but this is the nature of the beast.
Utilization / Revenue Per Employee is often more important than contribution to product or clients.

Advice to Senior ManagementLet sales management manage for longer than 6 months before hiring the next guy. This disrupts sales cycles and does not instill confidence in your prospects.

Run .. don't walk from these clowns.

    Pre Sales Engineer (Current Employee)
    Portland, OR

ProsSome really nice people in the ranks.

ConsNo training yet the company has high expectations ? Huh ?
Lousy pay. Commission pay out is 90 days !!!!! WTF ?????????
Second tier, dead software products that they try to sell as "new". Totally wrong.
Mid level to senior management are rank noobs with no experience.

Advice to Senior ManagementLeave and allow a new team try and fix this train wreck.

Skills got rusted, got pressed by bossy management

    Principal Software Engineer (Former Employee)
    Malvern, PA

ProsThere are no good things that I remember and that I can share here

ConsYou will be bossed around by your manager who knows only functional knowledge and has become a manager.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet out of executive positions and start doing some development.

Growing, changing company with good opportunity.

    Operations (Current Employee)

ProsThis company is in a growth and reimaging phase, working to position itself as a player in a number of different software areas. The management team is strong. There is a very strong international component of the company that makes it much less US centric. Due to the growth there is opportunity for advancement.

ConsAs the company is reshaped from a lot of small acquisitions to a larger more cohesive software provider there is a loss of the small company feel. The management seems to be able to envision a different future, but the day to day employees are dealing with the here and now and are often not in sync. Investment in Change Management and communications to keep everyone marching to the same drum would be a great help.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvestment in Change Management and communications to keep everyone marching to the same drum would be a great help. Recognizing that there is a consulting practice as well as License is always needed in the larger ERP companies - same here. The Oracle practice of beat the employees up until they do what you want isn't the best method.

You Can Do Better! You will not be happy - just collecting a paycheck.

    Sales Manager (Current Employee)
    Alpharetta, GA

ProsThey pay very well. They have to because they try to attract ex Oracle and ex SAP employees.

ConsBought so many companies and are struggling to get the software to work together. Very disjointed. Managers have been there from BAAN, GEAC or some offshoot for 25 years. Those old dogs aren't willing to learn anything new. Outdated, bloated management teams. Cross sell group on top of cross sell group. Who owns the account?

Advice to Senior ManagementCharles Phillips needs to look at any manager with 10+ years tenure and really determine if they are adding value or simply resisting change.

    Massive Cluster

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsSome very talented employees...although most talented people are long gone by now. After many years of fruitless acquisitions, product strategy finally appear to be more sound on the surface.

ConsComplete and total dysfunction at the senior management level. It is a complete mystery how many of these people secured and retained their positions. The level of incompetence is truly startling and leads to a horrible work environment. The majority of mid-level managers are not even remotely professional, let alone kind. The sharing of "confidential" information, the gossip and the drama would concern any customer or prospect. People are treated more like animals then professionals. Oh..and if you saw the expense around catering, the NYC office, or private jets you;d be disgusted, particularly as salaries and 401K matching had been frozen for years.

Advice to Senior ManagementNo idea...good luck cleaning the mess up.

    Started off great...downhill from there

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Alpharetta, GA

ProsGreat work life balance; good people overall. Nice work area and working environment. Some positions allow for telework.

ConsStarted off great, went downhill after the SSA acquisition. Executives from SSA were brought on board who sang a good song, but couldn't deliver....at all. Anything. These guys couldn't deliver a pizza if it was handed to them. Of course most of these fellas are long gone along with their pack of cronies after they made a complete mess of things, but the tradition still continues. Good ol' boy network in place whether they say it or not. If a new chief comes along and he has his own Indians, better start packing. Although I performed solidly for many years, was let go by a manager who had his own team. I wasn't the only one who found themselves in this position. It doesn't help when you're replaced by a knuckle-dragger who barely knows the business but knows the new boss. Meh, it happens. But there is more churn at this company than a bucket of butter, so if you're looking for job security, better look elsewhere. If you do find yourself there, keep a box at your desk in the event management decides to replace you with their buddy from a previous life.

It depends on your manager. Finance is cheap & short sited.

    Senior Accountant (Current Employee)
    Alpharetta, GA

ProsFlex hrs. depending on your manager you might be able to work from home 1 to 3 days a week or not at all. Benefits are decent (medical, dental, vision) They have a 401K that they contribute a small amount to. 20days vacation 1st yr

ConsFinance management doesn't really appreciate long term employees, nor reward them financially. They don't realize that their employees are their most valuable asset. It takes Sales, those that produce the widgets & the back office accounting all pulling in the same direction and supporting each other to make a company truely successful.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagment from the top down needs to really think about what they want, where they want the company to go and remember that their employees, especially the long term ones are their most valuable asset. Top managment values upper managment but that is as far as it goes.
