I have been working at Infor Global full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Infor has a decent PTO program and health care benefits for the employee. Work from home opportunity is a great draw for certain positions.

    Cons

Infor has the lowest pay scale out of all the companies competing for the same workforce. The upper management is paid handsomely while the rest of the workforce is left fighting over commission, bonuses, pay raises. It is a company that will hold you over until the economy improves and the economy is now improved so there is a high turnover rate. Upper management just needs to stop looking at ways to meet their financial goals so they can go public and devote some of that energy into rewarding the employees. There are too many middle managers that fluff their work so they can get ahead and be rewarded for the little they do. If Infor is truly to compete with SAP, Oracle and the like, it needs to develop from within and provide a work environment similar to Microsoft, Google that keeps their best assets happy - their employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Concentrate less on going public and more on the employees that are working hard everyday to put the millions of dollars in your pockets. This is the livelihood of the 13,000 employees that bring in the dollars and not just a number that you can disregard. Pay attention to what your employees have to say and less on what you want them to think and do. A good company will remain that way if the employees are satisfied with their work and continue to the success of the company. Infor is a good company that will get better if given the right direction. If your heart is not truly in it, it will show.

    Pros

Freedom to run territory as your own business enterprise. No micro-management in my department.

    Cons

Very limited lead generation. There is a tendency to focus on legacy products rather than some of the smaller solutions with large growth potential.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve lead gen for less visible products in North America with large growth potential.

    Cons

Large corporte company means it takes time to move up and you have to be able to play the corporate game but if you can than it is great.

I have been working at Infor Global full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

It's generally a pro-telecommuting company, which helps with work/life balance and also means you don't get stuck working with unqualified people who just happen to live near one of their offices. Benefits are fairly good.

    Cons

Compensation and bonus plans are badly conceived and poorly executed. Not enough resources put into integration between products from acquired companies. No company-wide culture or identity, at least not yet-- it's a bunch of legacy companies working almost independently in some cases. It's hard to tell what the company's leaders and ownership (mainly a private equity firm) really have in mind for the long term.

    Pros

Great morale boosting activities. Positive inter-departmental communication. Busy work environment with realistic expectations.

    Cons

Difficult to advance within the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to have more of a mentor mentality and pull up those that have the ability, desire, and potential to learn and do more.

I have been working at Infor Global

    Pros

Very low expectations from its staff. So if you aren't particularly driven, it's a great place to work. Remote arrangements allow flexibility for work-life balance.

    Cons

Leadership doesn't communicate - either to the staff or amongst themselves. Employees are misled about opportunities, asked to do other people's jobs when others are incompetent. Very high turnover. More focused on internal politics and navel-gazing than actually responding to customer needs. Because leadership isn't in touch with customer needs, actions are reactive and short-term fixes. No vision.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Plan farther ahead than next week and share your vision with your teams.

Good place to start, but difficult to continue.

I have been working at Infor Global

    Pros

    Innovative software development.
    Excellent co-workers.
Comparable products to market's largest competitors

    Cons

Poor personal growth, not enough room for even minimal advancement.
    Poorly structured benefits and comp

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I'd suggest coming up with a better way to comp pre-sales. The current method is meager and un-motivating. Also, perhaps a better system for advancement.

I worked at Infor Global full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The people in the trenches are hard workers and are reasonably good at collaborating with their peers. Knowledge of most of the workers is very deep, and most of the products have roots going back 10 - 30 years.

    Cons

Communication from the senior management (directors ==> President) are generally poor, and generally nothing but a pep rally. Line managers are a mixed lot, as they are generally technical, and have not been given any real training in how to manage people

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Connect with the little people.

    Pros

Remote work from home model. Making progress with CloudSuite with an integrated cloud offering.

    Cons

Leadership is disengaged and uninspiring. Lack of vertical strategy. Clash of cultures due to acquisitions. Unrealistic quotas. Poor demo environment or on demand demonstration. Limited training upon hire or ongoing. High turn over.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Engage your employees in a more meaningful way. Make them feel valued.
