    Pros

Excellent culture - supportive and empowering. Compensation and benefits very good. Outstanding products and corporate reputation. Challenging and fun place to work.

    Cons

Market still knows Informatica as an "ETL-shop". Need to do a better job communicating the many complimentary and innovative solutions that Informatica offers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work.

    Pros

Fun, friendly, smart and supportive colleagues with very little hierarchical protocols. New and bright office space and plenty of training if you raise your hand.

    Cons

With the rapid growth the company is experiencing you can easily get out of balance with work and life demands. Wearing too many is counterproductive in the long run.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

With the wide range in senior level and entry level people, some mandatory training is in order to close the skills gap and lessen the need to always be coaching.

I worked at Informatica full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

A lot a people really like it there, and have some great, dedicated people too. The CEO makes himself visible around the company, therefore being accessible and approachable. Pay scale is on target, great benefits and matching 401(k).

    Cons

A majority of the people have been there for a REALLY long time which gives the place (and culture) an old school vibe - which is a direct correlation to why there are practically no women in management or key positions. The old guard don't view women as their equal - at all! They try to keep changing things up but nothing really sticks and they fall back on the "tried and true" way of doing things. HR is a scary joke and are more of a liability to the company than anything else, however, they have a decent recruiting team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Improve the entire HR process and experience. Put more women in management and executive management roles.

I worked at Informatica as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The environment near the company is very good! There are a lot of great intern event. You can met a lot of new friends there.

    Cons

1, Their product is real difficult to use. For example, if you want to import a dataset, even a full-time employee don't know how to do that after 1 hour trying.
2, You might learn nothing from it. Also, unlike other big company, there is no plan for interns, they always changed their thought. What you do might a trivial thing.
3, they didn't change the intern salary for over three years!!

    Dysfunctional cloud group

I have been working at Informatica full-time

    Pros

Employees are given plenty of autonomy in marketing to make an impact. Marge Breya the CMO is a great leader who has transformed the company with the Vibe brand and has an open door policy to anyone who has concerns.

    Cons

Cloud is the future of the company but the cloud group refusies to work with corporate marketing. They do as they please & maintain they're own website and spend money like water. They always flout branding guidelines and their leadership never misses a moment to criticize our culture as an old enterptise sw company that doesn't get cloud. Their leadership runs around in circles without a plan and is more concerned with promoting their own image.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cloud won't scale unless it is a core part of Informatica....too many teams are running around doing what they want with duplicate work being created. Cloud marketing needs to be brought in under the CMO, Marge. In the EVP of Products, Anil's group, he needs to centralize his team...merge cloud product management with on-premise data integration product management and put an end to these business unit silos with their self promotionall "leaders".

I worked at Informatica as a contractor (more than an year)

    Pros

Big company, good name on resume

    Cons

Treat contractors like crap, pretty cut-and-dry culture, not very interesting if you're non-tech or non-engineer

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees better and treat them better overall! Then you won't have so much turnover

I have been working at Informatica full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Some very smart SVP leaders, great space (huge potential with cloud DI/DQ, MDM, etc),

    Cons

Mixed product strategy of on-prem / cloud - own product is competing internally and confusion with customers due to CEO is not competent to run a company at this scale - he is risk adverse, and allows that mentality to permeate throughout company. Strategic young"er" leaders for cloud sales and channel recently left.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

CEO needs less cronies, and to be bolder in the market, and retain bolder leaders.

I worked at Informatica full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Small company culture with a friendly & fun atmosphere. In general the company focuses on execution and getting things done. There is good work life balance and a healthy stream of team building events. Good amount of training and personal growth opportunities available. Flexibility in moving around and relocating to the right team and project.

    Cons

Some amount of saturation in mid-management and at times the decision making has been lethargic that has resulted in loss of momentum. There have been technical missteps around some of the projects over the years and folks have been slow to own up to that and correct them as it requires rocking the boat.
