I have been working at Infosys full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

lot of freedom in working style, flexibility in work from home option, onsite opportunities

    Cons

Bigger teams means lot of complexities involved in communication, appraisal system, salary hike

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appraisal system still follows bell curve distribution in most of the teams. This can be done away with

Former Employee - Senior Systems Engineer in Pune (India)

I worked at Infosys full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

awesome on-campus facilities, ranging from gym, spa, pool, cricket and other sports ground, lots of food courts and even a dormitory to sleep when you arent well! the training is world class, and you have an opportunity to learn as much as you want

    Cons

Growth is organic, and hikes are few and far in between. the salary structure is such that a wide portion of your pay is variable, and till you are the best of the best, you might not even get what is on the papers (because of the variable pay- a part of it depends on your performance, a part of it on company's performance). And it is very difficult to change the stream you are working in

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

HR needs more say in employee matters. currently, the middle management are the Gods, with everything from promotions or project switching or days off, unpaid overtime etc depends on them, and their is hardly a point in raising concerns to the HR

Former Employee - Systems Engineer in Pune (India)

I worked at Infosys full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I joined as a fresher right after my under graduation. I really enjoyed the training program at Mysore. I think it is one of the best in industry. Good compensation and technical training.

    Cons

Lack of leadership and management. I was trained on java technologies but after that they put me in database testing team. Sometimes you have to work on weekend, they provide compensation for that though.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There should be link between training and actual work. Management should do more to motivate the employees. Regular bonuses and hikes.
