I have been working at Infosys full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Values, Work ethics, Learning. If you perform, opportunities will keep coming.

    Cons

Decision making power is centralized at top management. Lower level managers who directly work with developers and architects have minimal control on making employee friendly decisions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't just go by policies every time. Some of them sound stupid. For example, to get internet access during office hours, a developer has to get approval from Delivery Manager or DC head. It doesn't make sense since they have no idea whether the developer needs it or not. Direct manager should be the best person to decide and approve or disapprove

I worked at Infosys full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Globally the Company Perception is better than what it actually is…
    Nothing I saw positive

    Cons

Senior management is penny wise dollar foolish
Expected to work US time in the day & India time at night.
Claiming to be cutting edge IT company & using internal app called 'Sparsh' seems to have developed by Mr. Murthy & other co-founders…
US hires need to be tough to survive from offshore old boys.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Career advancement should be based on capabilities and not ONLY on loyalty or number of years with the organization…
Empower US middle management to take decisions & not seek approvals for everything from offshore…
