Consulting is a tough business, this is a pretty good option

Solution Architect (Current Employee)
New York, NY

I have been working at Infusion Development full-time for more than 5 years

ProsIf you are good at your job and driven to expand your role and grow there is a lot of room to move up here. It does take a lot of personal drive in order to get yourself noticed as there are a lot of people here trying to move up.
If you want a job where you can meet expectations and get career growth, try somewhere else, this company provides growth to the best go-getters only. Everyone else gets upset that they don't go anywhere but its on them

ConsThe problem is that they are scared of bench time so they only hire when there has been a long period of not being able to staff projects effectively. Therefore people have a bad experience and its harder to hire good people.
Its pretty tough to work on capital markets projects as the assignments are long and the management in that practice aren't the same as the rest of the company.
They also have a pretty confusing and ineffective level of middle management in North America but they are ignore-able in the most part.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop being scared of bench time.
Get rid of the 2 NA GMs and get one for Canada and one for USA so there is actually proper focus on USA priorities.
Provide more structured rewards for employees putting in their own time

Needs leadership

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Infusion Development full-time for more than 3 years

ProsSales - Fun bunch of people and has great ability to pitch to the client. They are being lead by a smart guy. Amazing how they manage to sell services to clients when everything else is a mess.
Consultants - Bunch of very smart people, and always willing to learn and work hard.

ConsDelivery - Those on top have been in the company for awhile, and have no exposure to best practices. They have done a number of big projects but still make the same mistakes. Clients constantly complain about situation that could have been avoided if management listen to those on the ground. Political, ignorant and arrogant.
Poland - Smart but extremely difficult to work with.
Resourcing - Constant issue with getting enough bodies to work on what is sold, which affects the ability for the company to deliver, be profitable and maintain customer satisfaction.
Communication - Poor!

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed a executive management shuffle and bring in new people with better experience and proper governance.

Great for experience, however, company graved with unethical practices

Team Lead (Former Employee)
New York, NY

I worked at Infusion Development full-time for more than 3 years

Pros-Good experience if you are on a high profile project and company
-Still a relatively small company, so you can certainly take advantage of learning multiple aspects of running projects, executing and sales (all in one)
-Predominantly centered around Microsoft (that could be good or bad)

Cons- like any other consulting company, sales supersedes development/executing teams (this has multiple consequences..)
- compensation is a joke (including bonuses) - they are meant to be tied to performance, so they try to take the smallest thing and make it sound really really bad.
- stressful - its a consulting company at the end of the day - their business thrives on selling more and the only way to do that really fast is for the sales team to promise the world and pass on the stress to the execution teams. but you can really excel here if you are wanting to learn quickly and spend extra time (without any appreciation - other than personal growth really)

Advice to Senior Managementtreat your developers well (they are not cheap labour for the sales team)

ok at best

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Infusion Development full-time for more than a year

Prosit's an international company, and plenty of great opportunities for growth and travel for some people.

Consi worked back office, and it seemed like back office staff got the short end of the stick for almost everything.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to the complaints. It's always the same complaints, but it feels like there's no change.

If you build it, they will come

Builder (Current Employee)
New York, NY

I have been working at Infusion Development full-time for more than a year

ProsInfusion is a smart tech company with an amazing product - its consultants. Want exposure to technology across industry lines? Want a boss that will value your insight and encourage your upward mobility? This is the place to be. If you have the heart of an entrepreneur, you don't mind working hard, can think critically, and can use your voice - you will blossom at Infusion.

ConsIts growing really fast, and the infrastructure needs to catch up

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue investing in the infrastructure, which yes, are non-billable roles.

pros and cons

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Infusion Development as a contractor for less than a year

Prosinteresting clients. sales team are very good at creating enthusiasm within the company. fun, young culture. its not quite cutting edge, but its willingness to try out new things means you get to play with some fun technology. If you can take contract work, do because you can enjoy the work without being involved in the politics (see below)

Conscompany is mired in politics/nepotism (where isn't) but it prevents delivery of quality work. manager of the digital agency seems very unhappy - he complains about the company to whomever will listen which seems very unprofessional and in other companies would be a firing offense.

Advice to Senior Managementif you have bad leaders (and you do), addressing the problem directly will inspire your team and show true leadership.

A company that may look client good but really aren't...

Project Manager (Former Employee)
New York, NY

I worked at Infusion Development full-time for less than a year

ProsThe company looks great, offices in New York, Toronto, London, Dubai, Wroclaw, Warsaw, Tokyo and Singapore, but it is all really a sham... There are people here who seem intelligent and willing to do great work, but if they are, that's another story. They seem flexible time-management wise but...
They have a couple of impressive clients. Metlife use them and Samsung use them. Then again, Infusion is just one of the many companies these behemoths use so it is not a real reflection of the company.

ConsThe REAL office is in Toronto where all the CxOs sit except the CEO who is located in New York. He's almost never in the office, and when he is he looks like he just rolled out of bed and go into the office to take some calls and maybe get some updates on some clients.
It seems like delivery in New York are not doing a good job at all. Many, many projects are over budget and this says something about the quality of the staff.
The communication between managers and staff looks on the surface as it works but in reality it does not.

Final thought: There are 20+ images submitted by the company. Of those most, are not from any other office but Toronto. That should say something about how this company works. There are a few from New York, but those are repeated and not from any work functions, like they are from Toronto. Maybe the Toronto office works, but the NYC must seemingly not work.

Advice to Senior ManagementIt is time to do a thorough portfolio review with a fine-toothed comb. When accounts start to be accepting 75% - 80% overage there is something seriously wrong with the process, be it delivery or the staff assisting in estimation...

Also, when your company has a rating of less than 3 stars on glassdoor.com you should know there is something going on that you need to change.
