I have been working at Infusion full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    1. While some might be uncomfortable with the lack of organization and hierarchy it provides for great career opportunities. The path isn't laid out for you.

    2. People are really smart. In all areas and levels of the organization.

    3. Increased my salary by 50% over 4 years there.

    4. Privately held. If you have ever worked for a public company you know how stock price and shareholders and skew the strategic direction of the company. Not saying management is perfect but they are compassionate, real people.

    Cons

    1. It is consulting. The business isn't for everyone. Unpredicable clients, unrealistic deadlines, and always new technologies.

    2. Career path isn't clearly defined and takes an assertive and go-getter personality to move up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Resist the temptation to become one of those large consulting firms that are everything to everyone. Find the niche around emerging technologies and innovation and stick to that strategy.

I have been working at Infusion full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    - Nice and competent coworkers

    Cons

    - Excruciating hours. They allocate resources at over 80 hours and think nothing of it
    - No job descriptions or documented career path
    - No bench - which makes it difficult when clients want to hire them for a project - they have to scurry around and try to find new hires
    - No training/career growth - unlike most consulting firms that require you to do 60 hours of training per year to keep up with changing technology
    - Management is too busy to schedule interviews in a timely fashion

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bench time is not bad. Use it for employee training and to build internal tools and document internal processes - you desperately need both of those things.

    Pros

Extremely talented group of professionals. Constant flow of great company events. Ownership and executives who truly care about the company and all the employees. Exciting clients and projects. Global opportunities to grow your career and explore new ventures. Amazing company grow that the ownership invests back in the company as opposed to other companies I worked at where the profits were taken out for the owner's personal use.

    Cons

I have not experienced any real negatives at the Infusion.

I have been working at Infusion full-time

    Pros

Amazing, smart people who are passionate about their work and fun to be around. Good office culture. It feels like a family, you can unwind with a beer on a Friday afternoon or sit and have lunch with whoever is around. People are friendly and seem genuinely happy to be here.

Company invests in cool training and offsite team building events such as Sleepless, Global Coding Contest and Learning by the Lake (to name a few).

If you work hard and perform well, you will be rewarded.

    Cons

Growing rapidly so still trying to figure out its structure and processes need to be streamlined. This is not the place for you if you can't handle a little bit of imperfection and chaos. On the flip side, there is a lot of opportunity to contribute your ideas to a changing and growing company.

The NYO is a little broken up with consultants working at various client sites and the addition of a second home office. However Infusion has a lot of events (social, tech nights, lunch and learns, book clubs, staff meetings) so there is opportunity to interact with people who you don't see every day.

I have been working at Infusion

    Pros

Fantastic people, extremely intelligent and likable people, and excellent opportunities for growth. Not a lot of hand holding, but lots of support from management to expand and explore your role. They treat their employees to lots of food and events.

    Cons

Fast paced, and trying to accomplish a lot, which isn't a con, but communication can sometimes get muddled.

I have been working at Infusion full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

If you are looking for a small town feel, but with a metropolis of opportunity and exposure. Infusion is a great choice. Infusion is global, fast pace, exciting and willing to take risks that move the company into a more fruitful direction.

Like every other company in the world, infusion is not absent of imperfection. But different from my past jobs, they actually empower their employees to help solve these problems, and give them to tools and support to deliver.

If you come in, work hard, use your voice and deliver - you can do achieve things and go far here.
If you are someone that is debilitated by challenges and are comfortable being an armchair change agent , then Infusion is probably not the best fit. If you want change - then you have to actually help - change.

Infusion is a home for over achievers with enough energy and aptitude to change the world, but enough patience and grace to do it one step at a time. The people at Infusion are extraordinary and i love working here.

    Cons

Outgrew its shoes quick. Infrastructure taking some time to catch up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat operations with as much reverence and respect as billable folks.

I have been working at Infusion

    Pros

Contract work the best. They are always messing up projects so always need good contractors last minute

    Cons

Really bad reputation - most folks are now leaving after on year there.
Terrible liars. The previous reviews are not coming from employees but to get their ratings back up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

you treat your execs like an extended family rather than fire them if they mess up, and they do. A lot.

I have been working at Infusion full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

If you are good at your job and driven to expand your role and grow there is a lot of room to move up here. It does take a lot of personal drive in order to get yourself noticed as there are a lot of people here trying to move up.
If you want a job where you can meet expectations and get career growth, try somewhere else, this company provides growth to the best go-getters only. Everyone else gets upset that they don't go anywhere but its on them

    Cons

The problem is that they are scared of bench time so they only hire when there has been a long period of not being able to staff projects effectively. Therefore people have a bad experience and its harder to hire good people.
Its pretty tough to work on capital markets projects as the assignments are long and the management in that practice aren't the same as the rest of the company.
They also have a pretty confusing and ineffective level of middle management in North America but they are ignore-able in the most part.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being scared of bench time.
Get rid of the 2 NA GMs and get one for Canada and one for USA so there is actually proper focus on USA priorities.
Provide more structured rewards for employees putting in their own time

I worked at Infusion full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

-Good experience if you are on a high profile project and company
-Still a relatively small company, so you can certainly take advantage of learning multiple aspects of running projects, executing and sales (all in one)
-Predominantly centered around Microsoft (that could be good or bad)

    Cons

    - like any other consulting company, sales supersedes development/executing teams (this has multiple consequences..)
    - compensation is a joke (including bonuses) - they are meant to be tied to performance, so they try to take the smallest thing and make it sound really really bad.
    - stressful - its a consulting company at the end of the day - their business thrives on selling more and the only way to do that really fast is for the sales team to promise the world and pass on the stress to the execution teams. but you can really excel here if you are wanting to learn quickly and spend extra time (without any appreciation - other than personal growth really)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

treat your developers well (they are not cheap labour for the sales team)
