    Pros

Dynamic environment fulfilled with challenges and accomplishments. It's a great company to be part of.

    Cons

Low margins lead to constant focus and priority on cost reduction which lead to some negative surprises with last minute "course corrections".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

IS Top management must be stable and focused on long term achievements to avoid constant CIO switches and consequent reorganizations in the middle of important milestones achievements.

    Pros

Great environment for younger folks to learn different positions, corporate processes and culture (both good and bad). Don't work in IT or operations - total burn out. Great opportunity to learn and be exposed to market leading vendors. Most good folks leave to join manufacturer partners.

    Cons

Unfortunately longer term success and career path has more to do with political relationships and/or being a "yes" person than it does with anything else. There are lots of good people there but if you're not in the club, you're out. Lots of talk about "culture" and "the people" but unfortunately it's just that - talk.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The stock price is higher than it's been in years thanks to layoffs and acquisitions. Keep it up. However, I hope for all the good people there that you don't break the organization by ignoring the core issues. Best wishes.

    Pros

Great location, compensation is competitive for the area. Fast paced work environment with ample opportunity to gain valuable experience working with industry leaders on a global scale.

    Cons

Work life balance is a challenge. Company is focussed on operational efficiencies and lacks strategic vision and consistent global operating model.

Highly charged massive organization that runs very lean and thin.

Current Employee - Senior Manager in Santa Ana, CA

    Pros

It's a massive organization that runs very lean. There are many strong and smart people that run the business.

    Cons

High and frequent re-orgs, RIFs, and highly political culture. Not a trust oriented environment. Everyone seems to spend alot of time on CYAs. Due to the fact that the business is run on very thin margin, admin functions such as Finance, Accounting and IT also run very lean without enough process, systems or people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in people rather than only focusing on looking good to Wall Street analysts. It's the people that make the company.

By far the worst company I've ever worked for...and I've had more than a dozen employers throughout my career.

    Pros

Good cafeteria - sad, but that's the only positive experience here

    Cons

12 hour plus days and still can't complete the work - no demand management exists. Management is unconcerned about employees.

    Pros

It is Never boring, there is lots to do, and it can be exciting

    Cons

    Don't promote from within
Staff reductions and firings are common
Organization changes far too much to be successful
    No work life balance
    No Employee stock program

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mgmt doesn't share the success with everyone (just directors and higher).
If you are young and need to build a resume, jump in! If you are already successful and have years of experience and knowledge, I would recommend you look elsewhere (but 3 years ago, it was just the opposite).

    Pros

Some flexibility with life and work balance. Work from home privileges. Great way to build relationships with vendors (manufacturers).

    Cons

Never escalate serious concerns to HR. Very political and competitive atmosphere. Management states they want you to participate in making changes and improvements but don't really want to hear your ideas and frown upon attempts to make a difference. Senior management, creative and directors have little room for growth. Tailors to students fresh out of college to keep salaries at minimum.

    Pros

I learned a lot at Ingram, and met a lot of great people. The company is HUGE, and truly offers the chance to interact with every type of business market out there.

    Cons

It's all about the numbers. As soon as they changed service and support to a foreign country, the whole company changed at it's core. A lot of great talent left, or was let go, and we were all reminded that we're just numbers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the pulse of the employees & customers more often, and not just the shareholders.
