Current Employee – been working at Inovalon full-time for more than a year
Pros – Inovalon is a hard driving company that is growing at a meteoric rate. It is staffed with bright and committed associates at all levels, and the rate of growth offers boundless career opportunities for all willing to put in the effort.
Cons – The pace at which Inovalon moves is not for everyone. The rapid growth constantly taxes all aspects of the company infrastructure resulting in challenges for the leadership to hire, house and manage the requisite resources.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue to expand on communication efforts. Maintain an appreciation for the need to ensure an appropriate work-life balance for the broadest associate base.

Cons – *Very demanding of it's employees
Advice to Senior Management – Understand that employee's lives do not revolve around MedAssurant and better work/life balance or increased PTO is a must.

Pros – If you are a remote reviewer, you get to work from home.
Cons – Everything else! No process ownership from any lead, quality manager, director, or anyone else in administration. Raises are based on whether or not your lead "likes" you; so employees are back to schoolyard rules. Absolutely NO follow through when problems are brought by employees, but there are great expectations if problems are brought by leads. In short, if you want to work specific hours with no vacation, holiday or PTO-this is the company for you.
Advice to Senior Management – Changing the company name to Innovalon will not mean that your reputation will not soon follow you because the processes are broken.

Pros – Potential. Then again, potential cannot be valued.
Cons – Misalignment of promotion of staff to senior positions. When poor decisions are made at the top from people who are not ready and not qualified at those positions, it has an adversely down stream effect to others. lack of SOP makes the firm heavily rely on manual and people processes. This is a firm takes pride on transforming large data set. where are the adequate tool sets to enable this capacity? Excel gets old real quick

Pros – There are a lot of very intelligent, hard working people that want to be successful as individuals, and more importantly as a team. There are many opportunities for growth both in skills and in level. I think that the senior leadership team are dedicated to success, and have a clear growth plan in place. If you want to work in a fast paced, high energy, growth company, then this could be a good start.
Cons – The pace of growth can be a bit overwhelming. While it is great to see the business grow, it can also create challenges. There does not seem to be a slow season, so you have to be able to work at a high level of productivity nearly 100% of the time.
Advice to Senior Management – I think that the leadership wants to drive for success, and while that is great in creating growth opportunities, I think that they could communicate more frequently with the masses, especially when it comes to announcing and celebrating success. People are generally more willing to push hard when they are reassured that their actions are making a difference.

Pros – Hours are straightforward. No overtime.
Cons – Management did not share goals, "downsized" a month before the holiday season and there was no warning for anyone.
Senior management decided to tell the staff that they were losing their jobs after a mandatory meeting going through how he will be a servant leader. He needed to get to the point since people didn't care about what kind of leader he was going to be. They were focused on whether or not they would have a job at the end of the day.
There was no job growth for me at the company, they were not straightforward with potential growth through other positions.
After I was let go, I applied for a position that I was qualified for, with a Masters degree, and didn't even get a response from HR that they received my resume. (this after recruitment said they would set me up with at least preference for potential positions in the company). I went back to the website a few days later and they changed the job name (to probably get out of responding to potential transfer of positions) and never heard a word from them again. I would not put it past them to do something shady like this.
Advice to Senior Management – Find new management, management with experience. I didn't need to sit through a presentation of someone who just learned buzz words from their MBA class. We are all professionals and get to the point on whether we have a job at the end of the day, especially a month before the holiday season.

Current Employee – been working at Inovalon
Pros – No weekends and no holidays
Cons – No set rules. No adherence to any policies. Some rules are made up and changed every day. When you look in the procedure manual, that rule does not exist. The only stability is your clinical knowledge. If you ask your supervisor a question, they usually.cannot help you, so don't ask.
Advice to Senior Management – Try and be sensitive to individual needs of employees. We have feelings, children, and lives also. Situations can arise that require insight and sensitivity on your part..most things can be resolved with a common sense approach rather than a cookie cutter philosophy. Remember that training new employees costs money and lots of it. I am now looking for another job. Add me to the turnover list.

Pros – The company is stacked with talent at all levels. It operates at a frenetic pace, but it is necessary in order to keep up with the incredible growth opportunities. There appears to be a genuine effort to maintain an employee focus while at the same time respond to the evident growth opportunities. I have been here a year, I have witnessed significant improvement in attempts to share information and communicate more effectively with everybody. There is a lot of incredibly hard work going on. It's definitely not a place for the faint of heart, but it can provide great opportunity and reward for bright people who want to make an impact.
Cons – The pace at which the company is growing poses challenges for some of the mid level managers in striking the appropriate work-life balance for their direct reports. These leaders need to evolve more in developing a climate or productivity and employee satisfaction.
Advice to Senior Management – I am not suggesting that they apply the brakes to the incredible growth surge, but I would encourage the Management team to foster a more balanced approach to leading the rank and file. There is a way to meet both the performance objectives and employee needs. They are making some strides, but greater effort is required at the Director/Manager level.
