    Pros

The benefits are great, especially the 8% matching 401k
    Initial salary is high
    Great people
    Innovative products

    Cons

Very little communication, company wide, department to department, even with the same department.
Some people act like every little thing is a big secret
The opportunities for advancement are limited to those who are given the 'special projects' and finding a new position within the company.
Annual salary increases are typically 1% - 3% for non-managers

    Advice to Management

If you share how wonderful a year you had financially and you only give the people who made it possible a 1%-3% annual increase, don't be surprised when your employees are disgruntled.

    Pros

People that work at IL are for the most part very friendly and easy going. The overall benefits are good

    Cons

Management is not well organized and does not operate under merit based promotions or salary increases. Management does not listen to the needs of their employees

    Advice to Management

If you like some one pay them more and allow for them to move up in the company

    Pros

There are some good people doing good things. Product really helps people and is industry leader. The company is trending in the right direction.

    Cons

A lot of people have been there a long time but don't actually know about working in the medical devices industry. It's not a good place to learn how things should be done. You experience there depends on what group and what role you are in. Lots of silos.

    Advice to Management

Check your ego, tear down the silos.

    Pros

Great group of hardworking people in all departments who care passionately about their work. Office culture relaxed with reasonably flexible hours. Most management supports work-life balance. Products are world-class leaders.

    Cons

Company values have changed with new CEO (Ramon Benet) and change in ownership at Werfen Group. This used to be a company that felt like a family. Leadership no longer wants to hear about problems. There are a lot of politics at the upper management levels & the vision is short-sighted. A lot of restructuring in some departments leading to confusion of who's doing what. A lot of new people hired with senior titles that don't have the know-how to do the job, leaving more work to the overworked.

    Advice to Management

The company has lost it's long-term vision. Support your team, your workers and you will continue to make great products. Lose sight of supporting your people and the good ones will start to find outside opportunities.

    Pros

Good work Life balance, easy going work atmosphere. Friendly coworkers.
Good benefits. Encouraged to learn and do things independently.

    Cons

Found salary to be on the low side. Salary is not merit based. Negotiate salary as much as possible before accepting offer.

    Pros

Benefits are good. There are lots of good people with passion and wanting to do a great job.

    Cons

Culture has changed radically since the new CEO has been appointed. As other reviews stated, the new leadership does not want to hear about problems. Rather the opposite, honesty may be penalized and "yes" or magic overnight solutions are the only valid responses. Sarcasm and politics are visibly growing at upper levels and the number of egos are increasing tremendously. All encouraged by the new culture. Support to people and appreciation for engineering is dwindling....which is motivating many good employees to leave.

    Cons

Managers need to realize micro-managing went out in the 90's. A good manager or supervisor does't need to micro-manage their employees to get them to their way of thinking.

    Advice to Management

Train your managers and supervisor's to work with their employees instead of making them feel like it's either their way or the highway. Supervisors and manager's can learn a lot from this employee's too. Other than that I see a great company environment.
