I have been working at Instrumentation Laboratory Company full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Empowered to generate new ideas and drive change. Given wide range of responsibilities. Lots of on and off site training. Very competitive benefits. Cafeteria and gym within facility.

    Cons

Maintaining priorities of mid level projects. Working within various internal and WW regulatory requirements can be done, but significantly delays viable and needed improvements. Some employees are concerned with their own position and advancement over the general advancement of the team and business.

Would very much to be better integrated with Orangeburg team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay the path, but realize that some of those that have been in their roles for some time are not always as successful as you remember. Keep bringing in new talent and challenge existing. Trim some dead wood or reinvigorate them

I have been working at Instrumentation Laboratory Company full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    - People are great to work with
    - Good salaries and good benefits
    - Solid company with very good and competitive products
    - Many opportunities to grow and move across the company

Management and upper management is usually easy to talk with.

    Cons

    Hard to find cons.
Due to the nature of the business and the heavy FDA regulations at times the engineering work is slowed down by paperwork and lengthy procedures.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing the good job !

I have been working at Instrumentation Laboratory Company full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

None - benefits are pretty much the same as of the industry. Negotiable vacation up to 3 weeks, 10 sick days, 3 floaters, 401K match, thats about it.

    Cons

Where to begin - management/leadership is a problem (micromanage, manage people not processes). Offices/Cubicles are a joke (4 ft x 4 ft with plenty of spiders, specially at Orangeburg facility). Managers are always looking for people to blame. No Bonus incentive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide nice ergonomically organized workspace for managers at least. I know most hourly members are pretty much cooking in the hot summer in the labs. Please spend sometime with them and you will know. Also, please train middle management on how to manage process and not people. I think the CEO needs to invest in organizational training here in the company if they want to retain and attract talent
