    Pros

Freedom to run your own branch and make decisions. Fast paced and challenging environment to work in. Good benefits and average pay.

    Cons

Biggest draw back not a lot of opportunity for advancement into upper management. Need to create more Area and Regional Manager opportunities and shrink their territory to make them more consistently visible in the field.

    Advice to Management

Need to create more Area and Regional Manager opportunities and shrink their territory to make them more consistently visible in the field. Make pay comparable to their GM peers at Adesa.

    Pros

They pay well do literally sit around, and do nothing.

    Cons

No training. You sit around and do nothing. You can initiative to learn everything. However, you will learn only the operations side of things. Any attempts to manage will get you shut down. They throw you into impossible situations and expect you to succeed without support in any way, shape, or form.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to manage. You have too many higher ranked managers without any sort of post-secondary education running the company. Shame on you.

    Pros

Co-workers are like family they look out for each other and are always willing to help each other.

    Cons

Management is out of touch with what it takes to get the jobs done. They set unrealistic goals that can not be reached.

    Advice to Management

Talk to your employees. Get our of your office and not to just to go golfing, but to learn the jobs that the front line workers are doing. Enable the front line employees with the tools to do their jobs.

I worked at Insurance Auto Auctions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Source of Income, Fast-Paced Environment, Challenging, Great Benefits, Decent Pay, You have excellent work-life balance if you are one of the favorites.

    Cons

Favoritism and Nepotism, Some of your peers may be team players but most locations need more qualified Managers with proven team building skills as well as anger management. Management commands by intimidation.

    Advice to Management

Hire qualified Branch Managers and Office Supervisors who are true Leaders and NOT Bosses. There is a HUGE difference.

I have been working at Insurance Auto Auctions full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The infrastructure team has been through a lot of changes over the past few years, but overall, management has managed to pull the teams together. IAA tends to look deep into the internals of everything. If you like to know "what makes something tick," this is a good place for you. This is also a great place to learn as there are always opportunities to dig in. If you work hard and chip in, upper management will do their best to take care of you.

    Cons

IAA doesn't tend to pay as well as other companies. Like almost every company, it seems like you will always manage to find key team members that tend to carry the team as well as the ones that tend to free load. When you get above the infrastructure team, the environment is very different. The CTO, for example, really seems out of touch with both the people in infrastructure as well as the technology that drive the company.

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing the teams to work together. Remember to hire from within, but push for higher salaries.

I worked at Insurance Auto Auctions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

good technology being used.... that is about it... I couldn't find anything else good about this company...

    Cons

some Managers are literally bullying their employees. employees are treated like school students. no consideration of any reasonable demands by employees yet their expectation of their employees are sky high with no compensation. a great violation of the law forcing employee to work way over 40 hours sometimes without any pay. they don't like it when you ask for overtime hours works to be taken during the week off (some managers). lack of management and organization... hours and hours in meeting spent discussing stupid things that could have been resolved in half the time spent. lack of professionalism ... no true training provided... lack of direction... inconsistency, and the list goes on and on... and yes one more thing... way below the market salaries................

    Advice to Management

invest in your employees, give them some flexibility, buy them at least a better coffee machine??? can't you see how many employees are leaving the company on weekly basis... doesn't that ring a bell to someone???? don't you know that to satisfy your customers you have to keep your employees happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
