    - very accessible senior leadership - great benefits/corporate culture - opportunity to transition to new positions within the company

    Cons

    - cost healthcare coverage has gone slightly, but still much more competitive than most companies

    Pros

Welcoming company culture Company values - selective in hiring Supportive environment Invests in employees Provides annual continuing education and professional development opportunities Flat management structure Outstanding benefits and compensation rates Extremely low turn-over rate Awarded #2 Best Medium Place to Work (Fortune's Great Place to Work)

    Cons

You are expected to help out in all business areas since it is a small and growing company - not necessarily a con, though...a great learning opportunity!

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing! The personal approach of the CEO and COO connecting with the employee on Day 1 speaks volumes. The little things like free snacks, soda, coffee, and water in the workrooms make a difference and help morale. It also sends the message that the company cares and is doing well. Stay selective in your hiring, and stay on top in benefits and compensation. That will ensure you get the cream of crop employees who will keep winning IAI business in a very competitive environment. Your employees should be walking billboards for your motto of "Integrity: Above and Beyond!" Also, get your name out in the community and Intel field even more - community involvement and sponsorship.

Thank you for your comments. Creating and sustaining a Great Place to Work environment and valuing employees has always been an important part of IAI's success formula.

    Pros

The culture at IAI is absolutely fantastic. The organization has a “flat” structure, not some multi-tiered flow chart that you might find at a larger business. The CEO is simply a phone call away (he actually meets/greets every single new applicant on Day 1). Education benefits are outstanding, and easily beat the national average. Within 2 weeks of starting with IAI, I’ve already had education benefits approved. Our founders were former USAF officers, and their commitment to each individual employee echoes the USAF core values (Integrity is in our name). They are very interested in grooming employees for the next level and satisfying their desires to explore new areas of work. Most DoD contracting companies simply want you to work on a contract, do your 9-5, and go home. That’s why most contracting companies have a high turnover rate. But IAI has an unprecedented <4% turnover rate!! The employee LOVE this company – it pays extraordinarily well, has excellent benefits, and the room for professional growth is unprecedented. If you were a former military member that misses the camaraderie and dedication to the mission – then IAI is where you need to be. Hands down.

    Cons

None - so far, so good!

Thanks! Culture is important to understand about any company. It's particularly the case for IAI. We believe that a culture that is based on integrity, excellence, quality, innovation, open ... More

    Pros

Compensation and benefits are virtually unmatched. Senior leadership is very approachable - maintained the small company feel even though we have increased in size.

    Cons

Not a whole lot of opportunities for movement partially due to the company size and the current fiscally constrained environment. Benefits have been decreasing due to a variety of reasons. They are getting more in line with the company's competitors.

    Pros

People are among the best in the world at what they do and are good to work with. Minimal politics and the Board is very employee-focused. Benefits are among the best (or THE best) in the industry. Within the constraints of a highly regulated industry there is remarkably little bureaucracy (unnecessary or petty rules), and the indirect support staff goes out of their way to support the client-facing professionals.

    Cons

Government contracting is a challenging environment these days, and the ability to move staff from assignment to assignment is more difficult as positions are cut.

    Pros

Important work supporting the government community (predominately). Great people to work with. Focus on getting the job done.

    Cons

Depending on the position, people need to find their own assignments. Some concern about pressure on the DoD budget making work more scarce.

    Advice to Management

Think about the long term--and whether the company is positioned for tough economic times.
