Current Employee – been working at Integrys Energy Group
Pros – stable company in a rock solid industry, 40 hour work weeks, opportunities for advancement for those with technical backgrounds
Cons – Management is inept, pay is below average for the Chicago metro area, task assignments can be mundane at times, promotions based on political connectedness
Advice to Senior Management – Pay more attention to the needs of your future leaders. Make people proud to work at Integrys. Cut losses when some projects seem doomed to fail.

Current Employee – been working at Integrys Energy Group
Pros – Work is very predictable and not particularly taxing. Hours will be a steady 40/week with overtime and weekends rare. Lunches tend to be long and coworkers friendly. People tend to be very willing to help bring up new engineers through the ranks. Pay is quite good for the industry.
Cons – Work is often on the boring and repetitive side. Lots of basic data entry and very little analytical work. If you are looking to put the skills you learned in engineering school to work, this is probably not the place to do it. More along the lines of construction management.
Advice to Senior Management – Hire more technicians for data entry and repetitive work. There's really no need to pay someone an engineering salary to do this kind of work.
– I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
