    Large company at crossroad

    Senior Hardware Engineer (Current Employee)
    Hudson, MA

ProsLike most of the large company, well rounded benefits, bonus can be significant at higher grade level when Intel is doing well. Opprotunity to work with lots of interesting people. Chance to learn a lot. Company likely to stay around for the forseeable future. It has commanding lead in the process technology and pc/labtop/server market.

ConsLots of meetings. Structure can be rigid. Depends on your job role and manager, may be hard to move up to higher levels. Stock is stagnant for past few years as it's trying to break into phone/tablet market and hasn't succeed.

Advice to Senior Managementreduce number of meetings. don't try to do things by concensus. Give the job to a team and let them just run it (w/o requiring consensus from all teams).

ProsThe best reason to work here are the people. The people are extremely intelligent and work really hard. The other reason why I love working here is you have the opportunity to do anything and everything at Intel. There are always so many things going on internally that you can easily find a good job that fits what you want to do and need.

ConsThe company is huge so it functions like a big city. A lot of processes to get things done- so there is bureaucracy. Sometimes the middle management isn't up to par due to the high demands on the industry.

    -Challenging environment, very safety conscious.
-Nice bonuses, good management, great co-workers.

-Labor force challenges due to global environment.

Advice to Senior ManagementKnow you people, don't rotate your management so frequently as it is very difficult on all, not productive.

ConsEnvironment is demanding at times, but that is to be expected.

    Good Career Growth and Challenge

    Component Design Engineer (Current Employee)
    Austin, TX

ProsBenefits, Bonuses, challenging projects, cutting edge technology

ConsOutdated management practices and too many organizations and departments want to compete with each other instead of collaborate. This results in lots of redundant work and duplicate positions throughout the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe transparent. Actually promote people into management that want to be managers, not technical engineers who or just ok at doing management jobs. Penalize groups and organizations that compete internally with other organizations instead of collaborating and working together.

In over 13 years at Intel, I've always thought they have been very accomodating to Work Life Balance.

    Senior Software Engineer (Current Employee)
    Chandler, AZ

ProsWork Life Balance, Competitive Compensation to the rest of the industry. Great benefits.

ConsIntel is a changing company. In the next 3-4 years it will undergo significant changes and any employee at intel needs to understand that and be able to adapt to changing business needs. Since its a huge corporation, you have to deal with all of the politics and processes that go along with that type of company.

Advice to Senior ManagementI'd recommend that Intel make the big changes sooner rather than later, and empower their employees to make decisions and help drive the company in the right direction.

Great place to work, but feels very large/slow to change when it should.

    Software Developer (Current Employee)

ProsGreat pay, great core values, great potential.

ConsLive by excellent ethical messages. But, old procedures may yield slowly to modern practices in some fields.

Advice to Senior ManagementAs Intel is a great brand, and has a history of valuing it's customers within it's core brands. I'd like to see Intel become a customer pleasing force in software development also, embracing new, modern ideas more quickly. I think it will happen, but when?
