Pros
Diverse technical challenges
Can work on everything from chips to software without changing companies
Benefits and compensation are excellent
Super people to work with
Cons
Intel has (IMHO) struggled since the bubble of the early 2000s, keeping a higher percentage of very senior people (management and otherwise) while laying off more junior. Now, growth for more junior folks is constrained by the crowd at the top.
The company has struggled also to get a handle on any "right" strategy for addressing the handheld (and now tablet) market. They're on the third or fourth (at least) attempt and it would be great for them to get it right.
Advice to Senior Management
Apply strong encouragement to very senior folks in all functional domains to leave/retire so you can make room for your great junior contributors to move up during their careers.
Pros
work life balance, telecommunicate, vacation (they don't track it or care if you go over), coworkers, autonomy, rotation, ability to get MBA.
Cons
Pay (always can be better).
Advice to Senior Management
None
Pros
Pay, opportunity, stability, cutting edge, enjoy working with products consumers are interested in, Good people, compensation, benefits, upper management seems to care about employees.
Cons
Commute can be horrible. I have a long term concern for work live balance. Can be a highly competitive work environment,
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to win but continue to make integrity a top priority. Compensation, great products, and opportunity makes the competitive environment and long hours worth while.
Pros
Pros : Flexible timings, good pay scale, feels good to work with the leader of semiconductor
Cons
Cons: Not all teams having exciting project.
Pros
-Great community
-Laid back atmosphere
-Great people
-Great food and drinks
-Very interesting work
-New technologies to play with
-Great learning experience
Cons
Intel definitely has that "big company" vibe where you feel kind of lost in the big picture, but inside your team you feel right at home.
Advice to Senior Management
I would have liked to see the interns be able to take part in some of the stock purchase programs and maybe have gotten better benefits.
Pros
Compressed work week, competitive pay, good benefits, good management, friendly coworkers, lots of advancement opportunities and fast paced work. MT's get great work / life ratio but the same can't be said for engineers, but that's why they make the $$$
Cons
you won't last long if you can't multitask. Can be stressful if you let stressed out engineers get to you.
Advice to Senior Management
Record profits = good bonuses right? does not seem to be the case at Intel
Pros
Pay is good. Job security is good.
Cons
No work life balance. Tools run 24/7 and so do Engineers.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat Engineers with respect. Stop using exempt contract to drive Engineers work 24/7. Engineers should work shift and be paid by hours just like Technicians and Vendor personnel.
Pros
-Lots of resources
-Working with smart people
-Good benefits
Cons
-Long hours
-Big corporation culture
-Managers are very demanding
Advice to Senior Management
Acknowledge the employees more often.
Pros
The work is extremely interesting. People are drivng and are hard workers. Being on the leading edge of technology is exciting.
Cons
Plenty of work. Always more than I can get done.
Pros
Stock options, bonuses twice a year, pretty descent 401K/SERP benefits. A lot of job growth if you put in the effort. The company encourages taking college classes to keep up with technology and lastly a great place to work!
Cons
To many managers that can't agree on the basic things! Most days you are in 5-6 meetings a day and it's hard to get anything done.
Advice to Senior Management
Please listen to your employees!
