Very strong bias against women engineers. Women are leaving the company in huge numbers. Almost no women in high visibility technical roles. I know women with PhD’s that have spent 15-20 years with the company advancing only 1-2 grade levels. When these issues are brought to the attention of managers ( man), their immediate response is that only incompetent women are raising these concerns. HR is not doing anything to address it (except talking).

The company will benefit from diversity. Do something about it.

Due to it's size, great exposure to the semicon industry supply chains. There are many alternative jobs within Intel that you can apply to as well after you spend a couple of years in your old one.

Cons

Very long hours for some groups or people, making it hard to have work-life balance. The annual performance review is tedious and does not really reward any risk taking.

Rethink focal. Forced distribution means that for one to get a promotion that another gets a poor review. The 2% (average raise) for three years in a row stunk. Pay for the performance.

In software, Intel is far behind the industry and it's hard to develop technological skills compared to a smaller company. You also feel less meaningful, like a small gear in an enormous mechanism

Taking all 4 weeks of my vacation is never a problem. Training is encouraged, so you can stay current. Intel has been one of the best companies to work for.

Cons

More work than time for family life. Travel can be a problem in my position. Getting the equipment needed to do your job needs lots of justifcation.
