I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

easy to transfer internally; as long as you work for 1 year, you can transfer to another group

    Cons

always in layoff mode; no loyalties to employee

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

get rid of rank and rating system to encourage more teamwork

    Pros

Slightly above average pay for the industry. People are dedicated and definitely 95% work very hard.

    Cons

Poor work/life balance. Very competitive industry so pay slowly loses ground versus other industries.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior management seems to be taking company in the right direction.

I have been working at Intel Corporation

    Pros

Comparable pay, unparalleled time off (compressed work-week), and decent benefits.

    Cons

Caustic environment, not intellectually stimulating or challenging, limited room for growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Challenge technicians intellectually, (as we are mostly subjected to monotonous and mundane tasks on a daily basis), encourage technicians to grow, and provide an more stimulating environment.

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Huge marketing company with great bonus plans and other benefit packages. Depends on the group/team you work for yet very high chance of an envious work-life balance. Many chances to learn tons of different jobs/roles given company to be size of a mammoth or even greater.

    Cons

Overall business in a downcurve and loosing control of technology leadership yet turning into a huge marketing-ad company. Diversity program to focus on hiring/promoting mix (or number) of certain people/groups by not evaluating the capabilities. As like any other big size companies, bureaucracy spreaded widely amongst the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Really need to tranfuse capable resources from outside and stop promoting and/or shifting internal "Intelians" who'd been with the company for ever.

I have been working at Intel Corporation

    Pros

Good pay, great coworkers. Company had some great values. While I don't rate this company so high, it was the best job I ever had. But it is declining

    Cons

Managers can be a nightmare, no movement, they expect you to move on and they stay put. They make more work fou you and have meaningless meetings and MBOs that just add to your workload and have no value. Redeployment has gotten rid of some really good people!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remove obstacles and make the people under you have a better day at the office. Make working at Intel a career.
