I worked at Intel Corporation (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Intel is the technology leader in the semiconductor industry. As a recent graduate, you will get a ton of training and be well prepared on how to solve key industry issues.

    Cons

The experience you have will vary significantly with the area where you work. If you work in the technology area, TMG, you are likely to have a position which is geared to recent college graduates, where your work is highly specified and very controlled. After a few years, this will get old and you won't like it. The Copy Exactly model for process transfer is stunning in its success - however, it crushes any creativity and teaches you to do as you are told.

    Advice to Management

Intel's management is currently suffering from an entire generation who has no work experience with other companies, and thus has a very narrow perspective on leadership. There is a LOT of management and not a lot of leadership.

I worked at Intel Corporation (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good salary, good people, interesting and complex work. Because the work is so complex, there is a good training structure for nearly every role.

    Cons

On call, 24 hour support wears a person down. Even though this large company has many different roles, it is very difficult to change jobs within the company.

    Advice to Management

Create a culture where internal positions can be filled with capable candidates.
