Pros
great benefits
talented people
high energy
market leader
Cons
weak mid-level management
poor focal process
competition among employees for focal dollars impacts cooperation in team environment and promotes individualism
Advice to Senior Management
change the focal process and de-couple financial awards to a process that is highly dependent on employees having a competent manager
Pros
Great compensation for an internship, full benefits and participation in stock purchase program.
Cons
Folsom is a family town and can be boring for young employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Be willing to admit when you've made a mistake. Too much CYA, not enough personal responsibility.
Pros
Learning the ropes for an entry level position
Cons
layers of management, fatcats who feel entitled and do not act but just react
Advice to Senior Management
fire the top 10% highly compensated employees and make room for the middle management to amke more current decisions.

- Management is too conservative and old-fashioned
Advice to Senior Management
- More Risk-taking

Too much politics and silos within a department. Decisions are not made quickly enough causing frustrations within the rank and file employees.
Advice to Senior Management
get rid of all the dinosaurs and bring in younger and more talented employees
Pros
Fast pace environment, friendly co-workers, you will grow technically and professionally.
Cons
People work like crazy here. If you are not of that type, then its not your place.
Advice to Senior Management
Managers review interns. There should be some way to submit review/complains regarding the manager from the intern.
Pros
Good Company Name, There is plenty of opportunity to take on new roles if you wish, competitive salary, equal opportunity provider, respects the employee,
Cons
Global company using a location 12 hours time difference with west cos (india) makes WLB impossible. The bottom line is king to the detrement of employee meed to consider other locations for good engineering skills, like the US.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide better connection for (non-product) groups with the corporate vision.
Keep working On improving review process ( focal) it's better but needs more work
Pros
Great discipline in coming out with product after product. Huge infrastructure in place to do that with.
Cons
Can be bureaucratic at times...ie too many check off items needed by HR or mgmt that get in the way of actual work.
Advice to Senior Management
none
Pros
Good work life balance and opportunity to learn and excel your knowledge. The company is truly committed to making this world a better place.
Cons
Slackers that complain get just as much chance at raises than the hard workers do. It all depends on the manager and how well you can write down a few accomplishments.
Advice to Senior Management
Redefine focal. This is a process that not only cosumes a significant portion of time each year for employees, but it is also extremely biased. I once had a manager that would not take the time to have 1:1's with me. He hardly new what my job was until he had an escalation. Needless to say I never was rewarded what was due to me at focal. Since I have had managers that truly recognize the hard work I put in and they take the time to see the improvements and cost reductions I am saving my team and company. There has to be a better way to reward employees for their hard work, and a better way to cut the fat when employees are not pullilng their weight. There are WAY too many slackers that I work with on a day to day basis.
