    Pros

Overall Intel is a great company with a long history of having created technology that changed the world. They are continuing that tradition today in a variety of different areas.

    Cons

Intel is a very large company and it is sometimes easy to get lost in all the structure. While this is common at any large company it is especially true at Intel

    Advice to Management

Provide additional mechanisms for young people to learn from the more experienced senior people and encourage both sides to participate

    Pros

Intel is a great company to work for. The CPUs/GPUs you work on are next generation and very relevant to your life and just about everyone else's life throughout the world. Intel is one of those companies that when you say where you work people know and have respect for you. I find the work to be challenging, and the people to be nice. Intel as a company is helpful to the communities it lives in by supporting many employee volunteering programs. With matching employee contributions, Intel supports what its employees support. Intel has even put a lot of effort in going green. My best wishes to everyone.

    Cons

You will instantly become tech support for everyone in your family. That is funny, but there are some serious cons. Intel is still a great company to work for, but management has been slowly moving away from caring about their employees and toward caring about themselves. Hopefully, this trend will stop and they will again realize how Intel came to be Intel one of the greatest companies in the world.

    Advice to Management

Employee "punishments" is not a “difficult task that has to be done”. It is a failure to do your job properly, and bring out the best people have to offer. Intel needs to move to larger direct reports per manager (something like 40 or more). Managers of small groups tend to hold back technology as their fears of not being able to keep up drives decisions using their managerial power instead of their intelligence.

    Pros

Good pay, compressed work week, great benefits, excellent clean room and manufacturing facilities, and job security, for the most part.

    Cons

Horrible management. No communication. No loyalty to long time employees. Horrible hiring practices. Care more about making money than making their employees happy, at least on the manufacturing side.

    Advice to Management

Intel used to feel like a family. New management practices have killed that feeling. Now it's all clinical, which is understandable from a business standpoint, but the people are what made the company what it is. The new practices will definitely generate more dollars right now, but innovation will die out when people aren't happy to come to work anymore. I know that at least half of the manufacturing staff, that I was a part of, no longer wants to be a part of Intel, but only stays because of the paycheck. Five years ago, that wasn't the case. I was let go because of one bad review at the wrong time, after all these years, but I'm not bitter. I was relieved to be done with it. I was one of the people only staying for the paycheck. Part of my Intel family is still there, and I hope that things can get back to, or at least close to, the way things were, for their sake.
