    Pros

Good benefits including sabbatical, 401K and profit sharing

    Cons

You're always overloaded with work. Senior managers played favoritism. There is little promotion regardless of how hard you work if you're not a favored team player. Little work and life balance.

    Advice to Management

If you are only favoring one or two individuals, the rest of the team would eventually leave. Your people would see through your hypocrisy so stop acting as though you really care about the well being of your team. Prove it.

    Pros

Great place to work and grow, great work-life balance

    Cons

Management and decision making process in some teams are political and alienates or discourages good and dedicated employees.

    Advice to Management

Improve selection criteria for senior management positions and ensure they do not play politics.

    Pros

    - Staying power, quite a few employees stay at Intel a while
    - Sabbatical every 7 years, lends itself to the first bullet
    - Opportunities to move around within the company, depending on your role

    Cons

    - Large organizations within the company are less agile and are very political
    - Difficult to remove a bad people manager as long as they are performing in the short term
    - Culture of over promising and apologizing later (within my org). Lends itself to movement at the top without much consequences.

    Advice to Management

    - Reward honesty and check the plan versus actual
    - Listen to engineering, within reason. Balance marketing objectives.
    - Better process needed to remove poor people managers

    Pros

Solid business, guaranteed paycheck, great benefits

    Cons

The bureaucrats have taken over. It's like a government to get anything done and silos prevail. It doesn't matter if what you do is really important as long as someone up top validates.

    Advice to Management

Get over the silos. Get over the promises and bovine scatology and begin actually doing important stuff again. I miss when Intel did big things instead of pushing the next year's product.

    Pros

Lots of blue stuff. Covered parking.

    Cons

Must pay for coffee that is free to blue badge Intel employees.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue about human needs.
