Pros
They have good number of SAP projects
If negotiated well, salary on par with industry
I have seen people in bench for years yet not questioned or fired
Cons
Not many projects in Oracle Apps, Siebel, Java, .Net etc
Brand not know to many
Major concentration is on Hyderabad, not big efforts to bring projects to Bangalore office
90% of the projects in Oracle Apps are production support and small, hence not much opportunities to learn anything big
90% projects have night shifts, they commit it that way to clients
Advice to Senior Management
Do not voluntarily commit something to clients for getting projects and put the employees under pressure
Pros
ok company to work for
Cons
no projects, so no security
Pros
It can be an easy stepping stone to gain some experience for new recruits.
Cons
Be prepared to start ok then get slowly stripped of any and all benefits including pay increases. COLA is Coke or Pepsi to them.
I also question their technical expertise and language problems, despite having a major English influence, historically. Most customers get frustrated by one or the other. Sometimes, language issues seem to hide technical ignorance. I cannot say if this is inadvertant or on purpose, however. It may be on a case by case basis.
Advice to Senior Management
Happy employees make for happy customers. Technical training is great for customer application but not so good for management who have no people skills or concerns for human capital.
Pros
There is no reason to be at intelligroup when you have talent and when the job market is really good. You can join at Director level directly and get paid for being non billable.
Cons
You are better off working hourly rate. Intelligroup has become the walmart for good consultants. I pity all the guys who are stuck because of their green cards.
Advice to Senior Management
Management is a joke. All they did was cut cost which anyone can do. A small time grocery shop owner can cut costs to save busines, what he cannot do is build a super market. Intelli is managed like a gulli retail shop. Nobody cares as it is sold to NTT data.
Pros
Intelligroup promotes Career growth Horizontally & Vertically both. Good place for freshers to get the necessary learning at right time to grow further.
Cons
Senior management needs to be more focussed and responsible to get the required change in Company so that others will like to follow and go with it.
Advice to Senior Management
If the senior folk is serious about work, his reportee shoudl also be like him. But many times, such discipline is missing from senior folks hence it does not reflect in people below them.
Pros
provides a good job Stability
Cons
Money and position offered are not good
Advice to Senior Management
clear career path
Pros
Niche in SAP
Opputunity to learn.
Cons
No communication from management.
No fairness in apprisals, promotions.
Huge salary diffrence within the same level.
If joining try to negotiate as much as possible.
Management doesn't even try to retain good people, think they are in the company because of their own personal reasons.
If ur politically correct u'll have a great time..
Advice to Senior Management
They know what they are doing.
Pros
Working environment is good and knowledge sharing amoung the people are good.
Cons
No proper recognization of hard working and talented/dedicated employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Implement 360 degrees performance appraisals and employee recognization is required.
Pros
Manager-Employee Teaming, Team Collaboration, Fun@Work
Cons
Career development program will give more value
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work!
Pros
There are very few good consultants who make it happen, others cling on to them and senior management tries to kill the good consultants.
Good for first job and move on to other companies, as nobody cares for performance.
Cons
My US experience
1) Mangers who are non billable can travel every week in business class where as billable consultants cannot.
2) Management is trying to kill the bird ( Consultants) that lays golden eggs with unfriendly policies.
3) Rampant favorism. No recognition of talent.
4) All consultants are forced to relocate, even if client pays expenses, so that sales can get their commissions.
5)If you ask for a raise, management says Intelli is just a body shop, where as when it comes to sales proposals, you have to contribute towards practice.
6) Medical cost went up by 4K, City compensation allowance went down drastically, forget about raise.
7) People who cannot clear client interviews, hang on in head office and become managers/heads.
Advice to Senior Management
There is no process to reward the good guys. Management sold it to NTT group for excessive price and go their rewards which is a good reason why they do not care where intelli is heading. If attrition of senior consultants in the company is any indicator, they would have had the clue.
